First Josh and Bren were ghosted after declining the one offer they got. ZP has not even had any communication with OWL to discuss the next season. I don’t mind giving new talent a shot but just dropping previous talent without a word is just not professional. Weird decision to burn bridges with talent and community as the first thing.

How many companies allow you to haggle terms of employment with them?
Maybe the old bosses were cool with that but not the new one.
Obviously that’s not how contract negotiating worked previously. It’s normal to have a discussion about these things, especially if you have been with the company for years like they have. I don’t know what kind of companies you work for or what your work experience is to think that not replying at all is a normal thing to do.

Evidently things have changed with the new management and they believe these changes are necessary.
I have every reason to trust that the new management is perfectly competent and knows what they’re doing.
Hiring fresh talent could be a good new look for the league.
In what way exactly is that you have every reason to trust them? They literally didn’t even contact ZP at all. This man has been at it since 2015 and the new management can’t even be bothered to say anything?
There’s nothing wrong with wanting new talent but that’s doesn’t mean that you throw away your previous talent like trash, that’s a huge red flag and should make any new talent think twice.

That happens every single day at businesses across the country. If you have an in demand skillset and experience that would be hard to replace, you can definitely negotiate a lot of things.

At this point. who watches league anymore?
Nothing against the players. but if all they do is take one group of player’s feedback and set that as our baseline to the whole game. I’m out.
I watch the speedrunning community play games and they don’t get to complain about the game being “busted” or “broken” and then have it changed FOR THEM. They have to handle it like the way it is and play the game the way it was written.
Ever since leagued started, This games’ been on its way OUT and not about the player base anymore, but sponsorships from big Logo companies to slap their name on a product and put it on the TV screen.
Just because I see an ad for Pepsi Doesn’t mean I am going to go out and buy more Pepsi. i already buy the product and could care less how many more times I see the product on screen or their competitor. My opinion was made 5 seconds ago when I picked up a Can of each and said one flavor was better than the other. Being a former Cook, I can tell Coke cheeped out on ingredients, I go pepsi. When coke gets their act together again, i will go back to coke…

The brazilian cast team was dropped on the 2020 season without warning as well. They just “never contacted them again”. They got re-hired for the playoffs, then 2021 they dropped all SA support.
That’s just standard practice on Blizzard, from what I heard from that time when I was trying to get confirmation if 2020 would have a brazilian stream.

Then evidently they’re replaceable.There is a lot of talent from contenders they can move up.
Yes, you can replace talent, but you can’t replace the community as easily.
A lot of these older casters are pretty tight with their community because they built a good relationship with them and people like them. MonteChristo, DoA, and Goldenboy were one of my favorite ones. When they left, I was pretty bummed out.
I especially enjoyed the Monte + DoA duo and Goldenboy’s hosting. I still enjoy a few that’s left like Uber + X duo, Reinforce, Sideshow. However, it’s not the same when your favorite ones are gone.
Damn. How am I gonna complain about Blizz only caring about OWL if they don’t even care about OWL now?
