New Hanzo's Scatter Arrows perk bug?

Even though the arrow splits, it doesn’t hit the same target more than once. Is this intended or is it a bug?

I just tested. 5 storm arrows to kill a bastion without scattering them. But if you scatter them on the ground first (and make sure all 3 arrows hit) 5 (15 total arrows) is not enough to kill him anymore.

So somehow scattering the arrows does less total damage than if you just hit the enemy with the storm arrow directly.

It’s not really a bug. Bastion has armor, while armor reduces 5 damage for every instance of damage. Because the sactter perk splits the arrow into 3, so the damage is also reduced 3 times. The splited storm arrow does 3 * (25 - 5) = 60 damage to armor, while the original arrow does 75 - 5 = 70 damage to armor.

Anyway, the scatter is just a pretty bad perk.

Scatter has never split the damage in the past… And they never said it splits the damage here.

Why do you think its supposed to split the damage? That would make it completely useless. I think this is definitely a bug.

The scatter is just a perk, it’s not the actual scatter arrow. If it’s the actual scatter arrow,it should be 6 split arrows instead of 3.

Also if you look at the other minor perk, sonic arrow hacking med kit, which is pretty niche and underwhelming. While perks in the same tier are supposed to be at the similar strength. It’s very unlikely that the scatter is supposed to do 3x damage.

I guess the only usage of the scatter perk is to shoot it into chokes or small rooms and do some chip damage. Hopefully, they will buff it in some way.

sonic hacking health packs is actually really useful if an enemy is running towards one. Normal storm arrows already bounce. So a perk that does nothing but reduce arrow damage makes no sense.

Once again, for all other perks they described the drawbacks in the description. For this perk they said nothing about splitting damage. They simply said “scatter arrows that split into 3” and everyone knows what scatter arrow does. If they were fundamentally transforming scatter’s functionality they would have mentioned it.

Well, additional arrows just doesn’t count target that you already hit. And there are no description about that your splitted arrows wouldn’t count.
