Since the last patch ,the queue time for my ranked game is insanely low less than 10s
most of the time less than 3s
I click and let s go
I think they changed something in their matchmaker
if it s true it s maybe related to 2/2/2 coming soon
Because we know the queue time will be longer for dps but with this faster queue time most of the time insta queue match maybe dps main will have a normal queue time instead of the 15-20 jeff talked about
They might be prepping for it.
Since owl stage 4 starts in few weeks we might get it before that.
But the’res been some bugs aswell which started after s17 went live.
So no one really knows yet.
Yup, my guess was it has something to do with 2/2/2 too. Did have some problems last night, first 4 of my 7 games put me on west coast, and having high ping isnt fun. The next 3 were east. Did 5 tonight and they were all east, plus once again, fast ques.
Yeah it seems like they made matchmaking changes which either optimizes it or loosens the criteria to make it faster.
Wow so it s not just me
So it s really true
it s huge
a big change in matchmaking is a huge sign that 2/2/2 is coming
Considering all the leaks, media coverage, and anticipation for 2-2-2, I think the most damming thing has been Blizzard’s lack of communication on the matter.
Simply put, if Blizzard didn’t have plans for role lock, they probably would have told us by now.
in fact jeff told us in frebruary 2019 in his interview by unit lost that they were already working on a new matchmaking for 2/2/2 he said this is big task which take months and months
Maybe 6 months later they have finished?
check ping, it also got higher most likely. Or for your teammates if you closer to server.
People don’t just magically appear to fill queues
If the leaks are to be believed, they had planned 2-2-2 lock for stage 3 of OWL but delayed it for stage 4.
I thought they might release it at the start of this competitive season, but seeing as they didn’t it seems unlikely that we’re going to see it for at least a little while.
I too have observed the speedy queue times for Competitive. That being said, there have been some problems that have come along with recent change in matchmaker behavior.
I have seen reports of players who attempt to tap cancel on the search queue, while at the same time they are paired into the a match. This results in the game client not connecting to the match and therefore the player gets penalized. If anyone sees this behavior please report it to the Bug Report forum. Please note, penalties cannot be reversed due to this. I strongly recommend to everyone to not queue for Competitive unless you are absolutely ready to play.
Secondly sometimes matches don’t fill up with enough players to start the Competitive Match (both in main competitive mode and Deathmatch FFA), this is not a really big problem as the match will cancel out within 60 seconds. But until then, do not leave the match on your own as you will still be penalized if you do.
I am hopeful the change in queue times are intended, but whether it means development for future changes like Role Queue is still speculation at this point.
in qp insta games usually means your winrate is too high and you need some garbage games to bring it down.
I forget to say but I am talking about ranked queue time

It may be a little magic believe or not, I theorize the matchmaker is constantly working to find you a match even if you are not in queue in each of the game modes. Once you hit queue if it has any slots for you, instant match.
I have been tracking faster queue times for all game modes to be honest, though yes, ranked is the most noticeable change.
No1 cares about qp…
I sure don’t love getting 200 ping in my comp games. I’d take a slower queue if it put me in playable games.
How do you know this? I play in the European server, so there are two US servers?
on average, 1 out of 12 games is going to be an insta-queue, no?
I wonder if it’s all server-side, or if we have some sort of player list in our clients as well.
I’ve noticed the faster queues in comp, and my ping hasn’t been affected
