When we load into flashpoint i already know majority of the entire lobby will leave.
SEPERATE game modes!
I havent played comp since the-introduction of Flashpoint tbh.
OW2 is a failure for a large majority of older players. With the failed reworks game modes and formats i have little to no faith left in the dev team and the direction they choose to move this game in.
My question is: what exactly about the game mode do people not like?
Because personally, I don’t mind them. I actually like how flashpoint/push have real flanks and not a door that leads 5 ft to the right or left of main.
Dying, imo, is more punishing in these modes but i feel like that’s a teammate thing and not a map thing. Not to mention that people will leave over anything. Some people instantly leave the second they realize they are on defense.
And that is completely fine. Until the same person (people) cope leaving this game, because its not what they want, over and over again, while not leaving it at all.
I think it is a problem of not finding anything better, for instance i would prolly play paladins, if it was just the heroes i had to worry about not the cards or builds…
I leave them all. If I get too many of them in a row and so have to wait too long for a game I want I might play colloseo or esperansa but otherwise I leave push/flash/clash/KoTH during assembly.
Honestly i think, that even if there was something ‘‘better’’, those same people would spam these forums with their cope of how something is better than ow and why, and what should be done to make it other way around.
Some rageballs and doomboys just need to be hugged by their matriarchs, who whisper into their ears: ‘‘all will be good, dont you worry’’, while patting them on their heads.
There is nothing like OW in the market. OW2, despite all its flaws, still is the best polished fps and mp out there. I think about it every F day that I cannot say goodbye to this gem because there is nothing high quality that I can substitute. But I’m semi retired. I’m looking for a battle pass rework and if 6v6 will be back (I’m a 5v5 supporter though, but 5v5 is a big failure). So people here mostly feel the same about how there is nothing like OW2 and are all addicted to this game.
I can answer this, since many people won’t. These modes play differently than some of the classic modes, and require them to play characters or comps they aren’t comfortable with. A lot of playerbase has a pretty shallow character pool and doesn’t like to adapt.
Flashpoint is particularly good example of this. Despite appearing similar to control point, the faster capping speed and spread out map requires you to play a mobile character (or have a Lucio on the team). If you play a slower or low mobility character, you probably hate this mode and complain about it being a walking simulator.
Clash I can understand because it’s really a glorified team deathmatch mode. The other maps though are pretty fun, and a lot of people have asked for bigger Overwatch maps in the past. I really like flashpoint and push maps myself. The KotH and 2CP maps were both fairly redundant and linear maps.
If the Overwatch community had their way, they would only ever play on Kings Row… and a lot of that has to do with people aligning their ideas with their favorite streamers who would boast about the map design. As if it was this huge revelation… I bet most people don’t even know why they like Kings Row at all.
You see, there is big difference between your look at things, and OP’s. You have intelligent and honest opinion about this game, what you like and dislike about it. I respect that. But you don’t post almost every day, how you gonna quit, while not doing it, and you don’t post crying about almost everything every other day.
What i find annoying is few individual dishonest doomers, who constantly lie about how they gonna quit, to try get the attention, because they most likely think their opinion is better than others.
I love Clash - it’s like the espresso version of 2CP. I wish there were another 2 maps so I could play the mode more .
Push is mostly fine. I’d rather Push than KotH, which is such a slog due to having 3 rounds (and, even with the new quitter penalties, 90% of the games have at least one quitter from the team that lost the prior round).
Not a fan of flashpoint. If Clash is the espresso version of 2CP, flashpoint is the KotH you already have at home.
I don’t doubt that many player will default to going main, but at least the option to flank is there.
Compared to something like eichenwalde or even king’s row where they can only come in one direction. All you really have to do is sit in the one spot in the back that overlooks all of it and done.
