CONTEXT FOR THE THREAD
Okay, in the new comic preview we can see D.Va requesting access to fight the null sector unit command ship. The commander says no, but we know that (most likely) D.Va will be disobeying orders anyways.
Okay to one of the main reasons this will most likely be ONE of the hero missions D.Va receives.
D.Va might be fighting the command ship (with help, possibly not) but I can see us getting to play D.Va in that situation and destory the command ship with possibly the help of the Meka Squad, but which member…? This might give insight of the next Tank character…? I don’t know, just saying this for fun.
But yeah, New Blood #5 might be a closer look into Hero Missions and what Hero missions mean. 
It’d be interesting, but I think they’re just gonna do the simplest they need to do with inviting D.Va into Overwatch by getting Cass to jump in and help her, ask her, then she’s like but noo i must protect my home but then the rest of the meka squad are like no its fine go away and that one guy she friend zoned is like let me follow you pls and is teased as an upcoming hero, maybe even showcasing his abilities in the comic
but who knows really haha

I think you have a misunderstanding of what hero missions are. They’re not hero-specific missions, they’re missions in which everybody can be picked, unlike the story missions which have limited choices.

thats actually a good question. the number of story vs hero missions in overwatch 2. im more partial to story missions since interactions of key heroes. wonder if there will be less of them then hero missions

Almost certainly. The goal is for there to be “hundreds” of hero missions. They’re supposed to be the real meat of the PVE, i.e. where we’ll be spending most of our time after finishing the story.

honestly this is what i think will happen (although i don’t know how Cassidy with his pistol will be able to help MEKA lol)
i think DVa will join Overwatch and as you said the other MEKA members will stay to help Busan (they’d be fine letting one member leave) and I also think Dae-hyun will go with DVa (not sure he’ll be playable yet) as in DVa’s animated short he insists on wanting to help Hana and that she shouldn’t do things on her own, plus he’s been mentioned in a few voicelines in the game the past year. I think he’ll be a mechanic for Overwatch and help with numerous mechs and stuff etc
yes they’re going to be very replayable and you can play as anyone, i think most or even all maps will be represented (even ones that are 2CP) and they’d be difficulty options and weather and daytime systems
i think they said something about missions updating daily?

Okay, so apparently, the artist got to design the captain by herself; so the design we see is what she made.
And it LOOKS AMAZING.
Also, she’s been working on it since the beginning of last year, and finished it in december.
where did you find that out? did she do a interview or something?
I’ve been asking her questions on her twitch stream
is she still streaming? could you please ask her if dae-hyun is in the comic? (i can’t as i don’t have twitch)

oooooh he is? that makes me very intrigued! hope he plays a big part! makes me think the comic ends with either:
- DVa says her goodybes to Dae-hyun.
- Or Dae-hyun joins DVa.

It is still wild to me that they managed to delay a comic series by 1 extra week to keep these breadcrumbs spread out all over the floor. 
honestly. I was expecting it yesterday or today like it should have been released. Looks like it’ll be really cool though.
It was going to overlap with the Reaper event, plus February is just a weird month in general. I for one, can patiently, and excitingly wait.
Idk I am kinda tired of giving them excuses for the incompetence at this point.
