Nerf the 'SHIFT'

Mei, Reaper and Moira… The immunity ‘Oh crap’ button is just too good compared to any other Shift ability out there…
These abilities seem to be more problematic each patch and enabling their heroes to constantly keep heavily competing if not actually DEFINING the meta.
Could we look into that please Devs? Thank you.

My personal suggestion for Mei is to make it 3 seconds max instead of 4.

And perhaps remove the heal or give the iceblock an HP. I dunno, mix and match but in the current state it’s just too forgiving…

I’d like it if iceblock had HP. Not sure how to handle reapers shift or moira’s fade without making it feel awful for the people playing them. Maybe make it so you can’t shoot or use abilities for like .3 seconds after exiting them?

no heal on it would make it kind of pointless, especially with no mobility to escape once the block breaks

Mei’s shift hasn’t been changed since her launch. Why is it a problem now?

Man I use Wraith on my right click and it took me a full minute to realize what you were talking about because pressing shift for that feels so weird.

really it is, but people are getting annoyed with mei and beginning to have issues with every part of her kit

No no let them remove the heal, compensation is that aoe freeze skill we saw in the ow2 trailer

Some things only become problems after other things have been changed.

Launch OW and Current OW are two completely difference games with some characters being completely different between the two versions.

That’s for pve. That would be awful in PvP

Because elements of the game don’t exist in a bubble and although Iceblock hasn’t changed the rest of the game has (including the experience/skill of the playerbase).

Shocking!

Thats the point

But none of those changes had any real impact on Mei’s power. Mercy and Sym being new heroes doesn’t make Mei’s Iceblock an OP thing. It’s a patience game.

Where were you when the game was released? Everyone complained about her stalling capability, especially on 2CP maps.

Which hasn’t changed, and hasn’t been complained about until now.

With more experience and skill, why is it now harder to deal with Iceblock than it has been in the last 3 years, where iceblock complaints were virtually nonexistant?

If your team lets Mei get all the way back to the objective to stall… you kinda deserve it :man_shrugging:t2:

I’m sick of suggestions trying to lower the difficulty of the game down to easy mode.

None of those changes had a DIRECT impact on Mei’s powers, but things can indirectly change how powerful other skills are. Not that Mei’s ice block is ultra powerful or anything.

My only point is that you don’t have to directly buff a skill to make it powerful. Other changes can do that indirectly.

And what change has indirectly buffed Mei’s iceblock?
