Nerf supports thank you

The best characters in the game are literally supports. They can do damage just as effectively as a dps and heal…… and have cleansing/immortal abilities… I find myself just playing Kiriko and 1v1ing or 1v2ing and winning those fights. Or having bap games where I lead the team in dmg, btw for the new healer Illari… supports already op I don’t know if a healing bot turret is needed, but isn’t to oppressive as long as you destroy it so idk. But yes supports need to be just that… a SUPPORT to the team. Either the character should do good damage numbers and low sustain, or low damage numbers and high sustain.
The fact that one support is more than capable of sustaining a whole team after you’ve picked one also proves my point further.

Them doing DPS is fine. Be DPS heroes with healing utility.

lmao do you expect supports to just sit and heal bot? supports are allowed to do damage and even get kills from time to time :exploding_head:

one support sustaining the team through 2 dps is not possible unless the dps can’t aim. the games this happens it is almost always because the team has better tank and healer and so the tank zones out the enemy dps so consistently that only one is dealing any real damage. just a simple look at the numbers shows that single support cannot keep team up against 2 dps or even 1 dps and a decent damage tank

No, healing is fine. If DPS does its job healing is not going to keep everyone alive. Overall, DPS is much more powerful in this game unless you’re just bad at it.

PS, if you want to play Deathmatch there are other games for that.

The issue is the playerbase, particularly in OW2. Players don’t pick for synergy, regardless of hero balance at pretty much any rank below high-GM, unless players are stacking. Once this is addressed you can start re-classing the Supports are either main or flex a bit more definitively (This isn’t an issue in high level play, it’s mostly medal ranks where the majority of players are). Until the community starts making sense with their hero picks (Difficulty impossible), we’re not going to see much of a change in the Support role. In a 5v5 world there’s no second tank and god forbid DPS players ever actually peel, don’t get me wrong, 6v6 is absolutely not the solution, and those who think so either want to watch us all go through AFK double shield again or are just looking through rose-tinted glasses. The Supports were getting buffed left and right because in the early OW2 seasons they were dropping like flies to all the hard tank CC and particularly the dive comps, there were just not enough Support players left and DPS queue times were climbing again. I do think a global nerf to both damage and healing across all roles would be a welcome change though, which in itself encourages more utility use and gives Tanks the pseudo-buff they desperately need to be engaging, but just nerfing Supports without bringing the other roles in line will turn the game into a teamwork-less deathmatch of who shoots more, in which case just go play deathmatch or switch to CoD, and isn’t how OW should be played

With the amount of times a tank goes in 1 v 5 or DPS gets rolled on an optimistic flank, you don’t want supports nerfed.

Let them derank not my issue. Immortal abilities aren’t fun. How do I counter someone being immortal. I can out play 1 or two people and they become immortal and it’s like wow… “I guess I should’ve played better” no that’s stupid. Then u got the two shot head shot supports which I’m cool with. As like as they are all like zen! High damage but big hit box. Not these mobile…. Immortal… small hit box two shot head shot supports

Those supports are supporting you by carrying you over the finish line while you run into walls, throw yourself into 1v5’s, and pull 1.5k damage on soldier. Shoosh.

Incorrect I also play support it was actually my first main role and I think they are op. Please come correct with a better comment thank you. Don’t compare me to your gold lobbies lol. If you weren’t “carrying” your games that would be disappointing…. Supports are the most op

Supports are op. Want to play a role with far more impact than dps? Thats 10x easier to get the same value you would get on dps. Support is for you.

Theres a reason support q is 6 minutes in plat. 10 minutes in diamond plus.

Why dps is like 30 seconds in plat diamond and 2 minutes in masters plus.

The games even giving rewards to have people play dps.

I think the game did well at steering the overpopulation away from the dps role.

It’s takes great skill to be a decent dps in comparison to the other roles.

So to get new players that come from other fps games to ow to not insta lock soldier and mcree isnt bad.

No, we expect them to not make actual damage role irrelevant. Until then I play Bap.

The damage role is far from irrelevant. Supports and tanks were neglected in the entirety of overwatch one, it’s about time they had some power within their roles.

I think its because we’re in the wave of support focus by devs, having gotten 3 new ones that it feels highlighted.

Next will be tanks and i can only assume that tanks being next will take the focus away.

I mean look at sojo. She was also powerful that it needed a nerf.

I don’t see tanks getting a surge of players wanting to touch that role unless real balancing happens.
