Nerf REIN if you don't like barriers!

You leave the most powerful and picked barrier tank ALONE while nerfing pretty much every single one! You are fine with a big strong barrier, just as long as it’s wielded by your bombastic metal man.

Sigma and Orisa are picked more than him atm…

He isn’t the most powerful though.

We’re talking about all ranks where 99% of the playerbase plays. Thats where Rein dominates. every single game since launch.

GM is the best place the look at who’s the strongest

So Dive, Bunker, Double Shield (OG DB), never existed?

I don’t know why, but Rein’s barrier is way less oppressive than Orisa/Sigma even when his is the biggest of them all.

You are right. Jeff Kaplan loosely said" Overwatch will become more of a FPS with less CC & shields " So without nerfing Reinhardt shield it shows their bias

Not neccessary, because with these changes meta will be Rein + Zarya or Rein + Sigma (so still double shield), i.e. nothing solved.

For rein they have other plan.

" Actually we’ve been talking about Tanks, as role, a lot recently. In the past we’ve had trouble trying to figure out how to make tank heroes like Roadhog compete with big protective tanks like Reinhardt. Lately we’ve been thinking, what if we just go the other direction? What if Reinhardt was more like Roadhog? What would that feel like for the entire game? Basically, what if all ‘main tanks’ became ‘off tanks’?"

because rein has a lot of counterplay and he can’t fire at you while shielding and is overall a lot more comittal

i don’t think it’s rein’s fault most of ladder isn’t good enough to play the better options/conditioned themselves enough to find playing without rein completely unplayable

honestly if rein didn’t have zarya or ana to hardpocket him i wouldn’t really consider him very good at all, especially when he needs two dedicated healers (lucio being a borderline must pick) in order to really function

Where are you seeing that Rein isn’t the number one pick? Grandmaster, that’s about it! The vast majority of us don’t play there!

Bring me another

If it’s still DB then they’ll do different adjustment

That’s the point. GM ranks play whatever is the strongest. The lower ranks, not so much.

Rein can’t hold his shield up while shooting though, that’s the real reason it isn’t getting nerfed.

Also, I can’t believe you missed an opportunity to quote the prequels.

Actually Reinhardt is the most played Tank. Orisa & Sigma only see more play than Rein in OWL which is irrelevant on the Ladder and to 99.9% of the player base. Pretty much every rank is running Rein + Sigma, you only occasionally see Orisa picked with Sigma.

it’s because it’s not directly free value to him as he has to sacrifice something in return for holding it up, but it does give free value to his team by having him and that’s why a good rein is awesome and a charge happy rein is a disaster.

And GM

It’s a game, not the real world. If 99% of your player base is seeing Rein picked all of the time, how is he not too powerful?

Even in higher ranks, Rein is often substituted for Orisa, so I’m not sure why his barrier was totally left alone when you take what they’re going for into consideration.

GM players play what is good, so what is good will have a higher pickrate so that means that those heroes are stronger.

The higher the pickrate, the stronger the hero
