Nerf Pharah Damage

Skill issue, Soldier and Cass shouldn’t have a single issue against Pharah in Mid/CQC if that’s the Pharah’s playstyle. If you’re complaining about long-range/flanker pharah, always has been the same but more frequent now, it isn’t too much of a problem if you play hitscans and not out of position/feeding.

I speak for myself here, but I’m a rat main who dares take the challenge, if I fail it hard, I consider the swap (a skill to be acquired by many). I also just played in the Dva/Pharah Porsche tournament, passive pharahs are the better ones I can confirm.

Why do I keep running in to her a lot? Most games I have it is either Junkrat, Pharaoh or Echo on the opposing team. The new Porche skin just makes her easier to get the drop on people.

If it’s mirrored, then yes it’d be undeniable, you rarely see a Junkrat/Pharah mirror in comparison to Soldier/Cass/Ashe/Tracer/Genji/Sojourn/Echo in comparison, Echo is the outlier since she’s basically pharah-tracer.

I also mega played Pharah nonstop in the past week also for that tournament and the skins likely don’t help. For rat players, it’s a throwback with that buff, but it still doesn’t help much judging with overbuff stats, playing Rat is mostly a religious cult at this point, I include myself in that statement.

EDIT: Also, this might just be a me-thing, but projectiles is generally more fun than hitscans to me. I would play Junkrat/Pharah/Echo/Sombra/Torb, etc. all day over those top heroes, they’re quite boring and straightforward.

I’m really interested in this problem, not just in OW but in gaming generally, and it’s really a technology problem. Good audio modeling that would capture e.g. the muffling effect of a floor between you or the barely noticeable (but essential for proper tracking) reverberations in an open space is effectively raytracing at 40,000fps. No one’s come up with good algorithmic cheats that would make it feasible, if there are any. Overwatch at least has an option that uses an HRTF on headphones so you can tell which direction a sound is coming from.

I missed your comment (thanks to previous post).

I’ll have to agree with this statement the hard way. I can hear crouching people at max volume, but for some reason, I’ll never hear the random flanking Reinhardt charge from Narnia.

This has been happening to me since that one patch a long time ago in OW1, I can’t pinpoint it, but it has never been resolved properly and I miss certain cue shots from back in the day. And I hear footsteps as if they were in my butt when they’re in no logical range basically.

op: writes out 4 paragraphs so people understand his point

forum dude: gg that’s stupid lol

most people who say this can’t kill a lucio

that’s literally dead because pharah can’t stay above a roofline longer than it takes to fire 1 rocket

you said you played in a tournament and are a junk player, your skill is in the upper 15% and you want to disregard low rank players?

it was a sound fix patch hoping to solve the very problem it made worst

Your point is that Pharah should do Moira or Winston tier damage because you don’t like her

I’m glad the Devs can infer my meaning and not blow things out of proportion, I actually think it would be more fun with lower damage

I’m an ex pharahs main

It’s very rare for mirror but it is like when I play well with Brigitte. If there is no Pharah in the biginning of the round/match there is in the end.

It never had a bug free audio design in all my memory, there was always something loud or too silent.

My duo is a lucio player, careful on that one :joy:

Creativity wins you the game sometimes (you learn that with heroes that underperform like Junkrat). Rooftops are honestly the better flanks with how audio works to me.

I don’t wanna disregard the lower ranks (I was in there as well a long time ago), but if you actually look at stats of the games on either overbuff or through other means, hitscans also dominates in lower ranks, contrary to forums belief. This sudden change happened with the hp buffs and was boosted by the DPS passives being provided (heal passive and anti-heal 15-20% passive).

It was estimated that projectiles would benefit the anti-heal passive before it happened. Reality check, the ones applying it the most are the ones with higher firerates (hitscans usually).

Yea, I just forgot exactly when it occured.

When those folks left :joy:

But the game actually always had some buggy audio cues that often broke vc.

You think I’m exaggerating, which is funny

A four shot kill without headshot capability is Ana. Pharah would be Ana, but with no hitscan option and can’t heal herself.
