Nerf idea: wind

Ana/Junk/Hanzo/Pharah are just constantly spamming their projectiles. add wind to the level when outdoors.

Big yikes, you have multiple threads asking to nerf soldier, ball, praised nerf to pharah, complained tracer is incredibly op, doomfist needs nerfs, discord needs nerf, genji need nerfs, and hog needs nerfs.

Wind would make actually aiming shots harder while having practically no effect on spamming.

In fact, wind might make it easier for some characters (Junkrat mostly) to get stuff done by spamming simply by adding a bunch of natural variance to your shots, making it so that spamming a choke covers even more area.

Most of those sound reasonable. What you’re asking for is the addition of an RNG element to the most RNG firing type in the game.

Also weird that you just outed yourself for checking profiles to make your point sound better because you couldn’t come up with an actual argument.

Wind could also affect widow over long distances.

Only if we add angle of hit detection when it comes to hitscan characters:

  • direct, flat, head-on hits count for full damage
  • Glancing, angled hits that would realistically send the round bouncing away because the angle was too wide doing only 10% of the total damage

Also add bullet drop with travel time and target area hit detection:

  • Head = crit damage
  • Body Hit does full damage
  • Arm Hit does 30% less damage
  • Leg Hit does 50% less damage

Beams and Projectiles ignore these modifiers.

THEN we can add wind modifiers, for balance.

I like the idea of a more realistic approach to OW.
When picking Ana, you should lose half of your screen, not only that would be pretty roleplay (roleplay is important to make game more alive) but it would also end up balancing her, since people find the champ too strong.

wind would have minimal effect on standard hit scan like Soldier/Ashe’s primary (torch will be affected). Long range Widow would be nerfed which I believe would be a good thing.

95% of hanzo shots are already “would’ve missed” but hit because of the spam anyways.

Wind would affect Ashe’s torch.

“No don’t have wind affect Hanzo arrows, just Junk’s pipes!!” is a terrible take.

I have lurked these forums on & off since 2018. This is the singular worst take I have ever seen here.
