A singular arrow that deals normal arrow damage (125) with knockback and is very fast. (Sonic boom arrow/thunder arrow?)
That is all the defense Hanzo needs!
He does not need be able to shield bust and tank bust with an ability that is also super forgiving as you essentially got 5 shots to get value out of it.
At least with Scatter arrow, Hanzo could miss with it! Which actually happened fairly often, which meant the Hanzo just wasted a 10 second CD ability.
Storm is the opposite of this as you are basically guaranteed value out of it and has comparable strength to Scatter as well.
A singular full damage arrow with knockback would be all the defense Hanzo ever needs!!
It combo’s super well with his primary, can be used to knock divers away and it has the added utility of being able to be used a “sniping” tool as well. It is also high-risk, high-reward unlike Storm.

I got the perfect idea, how about Storm Arrow shoots one arrow that explodes into 6? That could be a fun rework that nobody would get mad at

Only if they have a fixed trajectory that you can take advantage of by shooting it “at their feet.” Oh and let them bounce off of walls for a bit. deal? And Hanzo must say “scattuh” or “simple geometry!” when using it from time to time.

I think they should bounce too, like Moira’s orbs but each deal like 75 damage instantly.
Yep bouncing = fun

Damn, they should totally put this in the game! They can call it “Scatter Arrow”

Make him have an arrow that hits an enemy and gets them drunk off sake.
Thank you. I fixed Hanzo. You’re welcome.
Or leave SA and just lower the count to 4.

Hanzo doesn’t need nerfs.

Why do you think I want to change it??
It is not just a trash ability, it is also incredibly boring ability.
I never used to take “spamzo” seriously because anyone that actually played him would know that he doesn’t intentionally spam. Hanzo only can fire 1-shot a second so spamming is only effective at like bronze.
Giving Hanzo Storm arrows truly did make Hanzo, Spamzo!!
No but in all seriousness, since Handsoap has Sonic Arrow, I wouldn’t be all too opposed to a smoke arrow. We don’t have any kind of smoke grenade currently, it would give Hanzo some nice utility, and it pairs excellently with Sonic Arrow as well. It probably wouldn’t do any damage (maybe like 5 dps for the smoke or something) and would only cover for like 2-3 seconds in a moderate aoe.
also i want Hanzo’s arrows to only do 175 damage max so he has to 2 shot because oneshots arent fun. either that or increase max charge time to oneshot to 0.9 seconds
Honestly its not meant to be a nerf, I am actually a Hanzo player.
Storm though is a horrible, boring, spam ability that I honestly just hate using.
It is the definition of cheap when using it, I would much rather have a high-risk, high-reward ability that rewarded skill instead of spam.
I hope you do realize that its more cancer than actual Storm Arrows.

Yeah Hanzo does not need a boop lol. Cassie from Paladins has this exact thing and its cancer

Shhhhhh, at least it is less spammy and none Hanzo players don’t need to know that.
Tell you what, I will go halfway, take away the the knockback as well!
I will still prefer over Storm arrows.
Hanzo needs scatter back. To smoke out pesky widows hiding behind a wall or a shield.
Geometry still sucks in Overwatch.
Abilities that rely on geometry to be consistent just shouldn’t exist in Overwatch.
That’s basically what Scatter Arrow did when it was aimed at enemy’s feet, basically all the arrows would impact in a burst of damage. It was considered a cheap low-skill one-shot kill, except unlike a headshot it had a much more forgiving area of effectiveness and was easier to pull off consistently.
That’s the primary reason scatter was removed, so I doubt anything like you’re suggesting would ever be implemented.

Literally all Scatter needed was to burst based on a short timer rather than on impact. They could’ve at least let players try it; people would use it into rooms and like Hog’s right click. No idea why they gave themselves the trouble of creating a new ability altogether unless they coded so badly that it was impossible to touch scatter without just redoing it in which case they should’ve sucked up and redone it.
I mean Scatter dealt 450 damage, this would deal a maximum of 250 damage and would require a headshot to do so.
Seems a lot more fair honestly and you can’t call it cheap either, it would essentially be a Widow shot on a CD.
But then why wouldn’t you just run Widow instead?
