Doomfist, doomfist, doomfist, doomfist!
Everywhere i see a doomfist.
Every game I see a Doomfist, un-apposed because he has no real counter.
Everyone from Bronze to GM, not to mention on streams are complaining about Doomfist. And I agree!
It sickens me to see the killfeed just fill up with Doomfist every single game.
You nerf Symmetra, Zarya, Sombra who are just “annoying” but you cant nerf this flying tank?
Were you one of those guys I punched in my last game of doomfist? I’ve noticed that in mid to upper plat that you can pretty much get away with anything as DF. No one remotely looks out for you at all XD. Spawn camped a team at watchpoint the other night because they wouldn’t deal with me.
I think there’s a couple of heroes they’re going to need to tone down a lot now that 2-2-2 is mandatory:
Mei
Doomfist
Hanzo (revert the arrow speed)
Widowmaker
Orisa
Roadhog
Doomfist is tricky because one minor change could have massive repercussions to his overall balance. As frustrating as he may be to play, he does not deserve to be dumpstered and should remain a viable option (especially as long as Hog + Orisa or Orisa + Sigma is a possibility, since barrierwatch just lost more counters).
[edit]
I would maybe even throw Ana in there and Zen as well since he’s been meta for 3 freakin’ years…
Is it really exploiting though? Nothing really changed about him. None of his counters took significant hits. He just does really well when you can’t stack tanks. He also does really well against the current barrier meta so hes my go to option to just make sigma a non issue.
I don’t think he’s broken. Honestly, I can tell bad Doomfist players from really good ones. Even the good ones can be countered.
Admittedly, though, I think the problem is that:
He is frustrating by design (I don’t think anyone can say that Doomfist is not frustrating to against as long as we are emphasizing that frustrating =/= necessarily overpowered)
When Doomfist goes toe-to-toe with someone of equal skill, more often than not, the Doomfist is the one that walks away triumphant. The reward is much higher with Doomfist
But, I don’t know what they could do to make him feel better while also staying as viable as he is. He was REALLY bad before. I don’t want any hero to be gutted like that. And I think it shows how minor changes could have massive rippling effects on him…
What I do to counter him is usually:
Sombra hack
Mei wall/freeze
Lucio boop to disposition him
Snipe him as Widow or Hanzo
Stun him and kill him as McCree or put a lot of damage on him - sometimes even killing him before he can do anything
Orisa fortify when he dives so he’s already expended an ability to get to me, and possibly use all of them when he tries to get away. Then halt him back
Zarya bubble my teammates that he’s focusing for free 40 charge
Kill him as Pharah because it’s rly hard for him to touch you in the air
Bait him as Ashe, Coache Gun upwards, and take him out before he can escape
But again, equal skilled players will usually have the Doomfist be the winner in the match-up except for Pharah.
Watching the game back because I always watch games where I felt I did strangely well. They never once bothered to look out for me and just ran straight to the payload mindlessly. Made it very easy to come off from the top onto someone. They had roadhog, mei, orisa, mercy, moira, and something else. I can’t remember what but there is no way I should of been able to harass them that easy. DF or not.
