Bronze: #1 Picked
Silver: #1 Picked
Gold: #1 Picked
Platinum: #1 Picked
Diamond: #1 Picked
Masters: #1 Picked
and since recently (and apparently the only thing that matters):
Grandmasters: #1 Picked
That should be enough reason to nerf her
“bUt aNa iS fUn tO pLaY”
No shes not, she is just op as hell
Sure its fun to just delete half of a tanks hp with a single combo, yet thats unbalanced af
nah, just go play fall guys its a perfect game for low skill casuals. which i assume you are complaining about a 50% wr hero where every ability takes skill and has a trade off cost.
Someone else is gonna rise up to that #1 spot though, then what are you gonna do? Start a witch hunt for that unfortunate hero as well? So on and so forth. Given the choice of only a mere 7 support heroes to choose from, its best that the most extensive aim support stays #1 rather than heroes like Moira, Mercy, & Brigitte. You butcher Ana, she loses her #1 spot to Bap, you butcher Bap he loses his #1 spot to Zen, you butcher Zen and he loses his #1 spot and then you’re left with the 3 I mentioned that no one wants to be meta due to the easy value that the provide.
Except GM Ana is on the most picked spot uncontested for the last few months, there is no rotation in strats, there is no comp thats gonna beat her and if thats the case, a hero is just plain broken.
(btw in the past high pickrates always resulted in minor nerfs to a hero, it wouldnt be new)
It’s the Roadhog logic. He’s overpowered, because every other tank sucks. Not because he’s really strong, but because he’s just mildly better than the rest.
She needs to be nerfed, so that “support” players that spam her only have to face the actual reality of learning to play a not overpowered hero. :^)
Unlike many of these sweaty PC tryhards, I agree with you OP. A support shouldnt function as 1) a top 4 long range DPS (as a Supp!), 2) best bodyguard and ability to do over 170 + damage from asleep to wake, and 3) an ultimate that makes a once nearly dead opponent now unkillable for a few seconds. But all of that would be forgivable if it werent for that awful anti-nade. Who thought it was smart to introduce a 100 damage gernade (on a supp) that blocks ALL healing for about 5 seconds, in a game where healing is so important the ability to do so warrants its own role.
Sadly though, since she has a sniper and not a mace people dont care about it being OP and call it “sKiLl ShOtS” instead. Kinda like why it took so long for widow and hanzo to get their proper nerfs
complaining about ana is a huge red flag of ‘‘mad cos bad’’. cant wait for the ow2 forums where all the mad cos bad complaint spammers will have their own karen’s cope corner that everyone else can ignore.
Its not mad cause bad. The pickrates for Ana only shows us that she is not “hard to play” or “skillful” support. Quite the opposite. If a support sniper is no1 from GM to bronze then it clearly states that she is broken.
You comment is a red flag tho
That is stupid. The more a hero is picked the less sense makes the winrate because you will always have a winning and a losing Ana. So it will be 50%.
Even unmirrored 48% is not that bad and if you HAVE to look at THAT because everything else screams that she is broken then its just sad.
I cant really decide if people are baiting me or if they are just so stupid to really believe it. Its really hard here because I have seen both to many times.
The one thing I feel needs changed in OW2, is nade and anti-heal. The TTK is already ridiculously low, so preventing healing just lowers it even further. It’s an extremely powerful attack in a 5v5 scenario with every little skill required to use it.
But other than that I don’t feel she’s too powerful, her healing takes aim to be proficient and the sleep dart isn’t easy to land on mobile targets. Maybe her healing throughput could be lowered slightly but, it’s the anti heal nade I feel is her biggest problem
I look at unmirrored win rate (because it factors out the very thing you say) because it is the only metric that matters.
If a bunch of people are picking a hero but that hero doesn’t win, then that hero is not over just popular. If that hero is winning too much then they are overpowered.
(in master/GM) you realize between ana and the top win rate support is less than 1% right?
yet she has a much higher pick rate than half the supports (only zen and bap are within 5% in GM and in masters? she is TWICE the pickrate of the 2nd pick…)
also
Pickrate doesnt show full details.
high pickrate on 1 of mroe complex (but by far not “hard”) supports means more losses just by the numerical difference of the amount of matches played (more player = more losses porbably)
Ana’s better stats than moira or bap did in past when they were nerfed after a month.
