Ever since Echo got released for PTR, ya’ll have been toxic about it since day one of her release. Now that she’s DPS and stronger than ever, you people are complaining so much, it’s ridiculous, and it’s quite sad how toxic this community can get over a new hero who you people thought of as support, we all knew from the Overwatch 2 teaser that she’d be DPS yet somehow had the notion of support in mind for her. Let’s just be happy that we got a new hero AT ALL! We could’ve gotten zero new heroes and would’ve had to wait till OW2 for new content, but they gave us a pass and decided to release her, so please…stop the hate.
That would likely have been a better option. Not all content is good content.
Would have preferred that over a hero we don’t really need tbh.
People dont care echo specifically is dps they care the latest hero is dps, don’t get it twisted. They could’ve released any other dps and they would still get hated on because of blizzard ignoring the playable hero gap between roles. Dps has 10 more heroes than support and 9 more than tank, thats why people are angry.
Just hope she gets mega nerfs before being forced on us.
Sure, can we stop the anti Moira/Brig threads while we are at it?
Im happyly gona join dps ranks when she is out and wait to see what they actualy planning to do with growing dps q times if at all there is any plan for that.
Echo gona be just my new tank/support. Its not even can be called one tricking anymore.
Stockholm Syndrome Speaks…
Really right now. Your prefer nothing over something?
I feel sorry for any OW dev that sees these negative echo posts, they would be so devastated that we’d probably have to wait for OW2 until 2022, just because of this. Ya’ll need to be grateful that any hero from the lore is released whether it be DPS, Support or even Tank. But…I guess everyone’s opinion’s will stay negative until ya’ll accept the fact that Echo will go live and exist furthermore even in OW2. Hopefully, OW2 will be less toxic than OW1.
Yes, I meant what I said.
I started the year not expecting to get anything significant anyway because they made it very clear that they were going to be bottle-necking content for OW2.
They also made it clear that we would get one more hero. So it not being the role you want, you’d rather nothing happen entirely.
They said we “might”. And we all knew that the hero was most likely going to be Echo anyway, which I was hyped for until I wasn’t. So yeah, if they were going to make her a DPS I would have 100% preferred that they just release her with OW2. There will be other games to play in the mean time.
Considering we have an undetermined amount of time (likely six months minimum, if not more) until OW2 and thus will have to deal with the consequences of adding a new DPS hero until then…
Yes. I’d rather Echo have just been delayed. I’m saying this as a DPS player, too. Like taco said, not all content is good content, and adding a new DPS over a Support or Tank was not a good decision because it directly counteracts efforts to find solutions to problems such as DPS queues and dwindling Support/Tank playerbases, which are partly driven by a lack of variety and frustrations with how impotent these roles feel.
Wow. Y’all are really petty like that, uh.
this in and of itself is a toxic post, so your point is WHAT exactly?
but this kind of behavior is generally good!
and they’re okay with it whenever jeff talks about something that blew up on the forums he’s like “and oh yeah some people weren’t happy with that” and then he giggles away
saying how ridiculous this is and how toxic this community is isn’t a toxic post, it just says volumes when all I see since Echo’s release on PTR is negative posts, LuckiestCat.
Well if you read the other 44 words in the post. Then maybe you’ll locate a point.
Echo is great as a dps, but not now that dps queues are at all time high and the tanks and supports options are so limited. We could’ve waited till ow 2.
