Nerf punch damage buff everything else. People STILL hate Doomfist primarily because of punch that can do a 250 burst on tanks and one shot supports. High level players have the awareness and positioning to stop punch but low level players don’t and feel like their getting deleted with no counterplay. Somehow you guys nerfed doom to a point where he is hated by the majority of low level players and yet garbage for high level play despite being one of the hardest heroes to master currently. This is so backwards and i believe these are the changes to reward doomfist at high level while making him more balanced at low level.
Rocket Punch- Damage from 250-190
Charge time from 1.4 to 1 second
This lowers his burst against certain tanks in close quarters and removing his ability to one shot Dps and support heroes. In exchange, doomfist is allowed to charge his punch faster allowing him to have more fluid and fast mobility, and incorporate his punch into combos.
Rising uppercut: recovery time from .35 to .2
This allows doomfist to escape from a successful combo if he is fast enough at landing his shots. Currently, doomfist will engage and trade his life for a kill because cc and burst damage is very easy to land on him currently.
Meteor strike: Ultimate cost decreased by 15%
This change allows a doom to get his ult faster when brawling as well as compensates for his punch damage going down
All in all, these changes help doomfist be a b tier hero for those who put extensive work into mastering him, but is a nerf for those who primarily abuse punch engagements for free kills at lower ranks. I’ve invested close to 1000 hours on doom and at high level, he currently feels extremely hit or miss and unreliable no matter how well i play or how much i play. Doomfist is not only a below average hero, but he is very frustrating to play currently. Also please fix his remaining bugs.
Tl;dr Change doom to reward high level doom players and make him healthier to play against especially for low ranks.
pretty close to mine. I’d personally trade ult charge for slam range and incentivize a more brawl oriented playstyle but thats just me. Good ideas dude.
I hate doomfist because dying to CC will always feel horrible and unfun to me.

I think devs havent buffed him because he is a hero who people despise with a passion and makes people rage. No he isnt a hero only low ranks hate, alot of high rank players dont like going against doomfist. (this is my opinion)
Let’s be real with ourselves. Doomfist is terrible and he shouldn’t sit in this awful state. These changes help literally everyone, and blizzard does not have the resources to rework him. Punch is the primary reason for the doomfist hate.

And therefore both gotten alot of nerfs to points here they are finnicky.
also if you got killed to doom one way you will know how he plays and focus him.
Thats not my argument. My argument is that dying to him feels worse than dying to alot of the other dps in the game.
Dying to mei, Dying to sombra, dying to doomfist, dying to widow, dying to McCree all feels extremely terrible for the user (Only one of the heroes I mentioned is getting special treatment)
the fun aspect of going as, with and against is an important part in balance in my opinion. Now again before I keep going this is my opinion, I dont think this should happen. In my opinion, he should get changed alot (a soft rework) so he is more tolerable to go against.
No one who is tank likes going against doomfist. No support likes going against doomfist. Most dps hate going against doomfist. yeah sure rn he is easily counterable I dont deny it but Just in general he is just irritating to play against. His stun, his CC is just not fun in anyway to go against.
Except a good 90 percent of characters have more than enough counterplay to dooms combos. Doomfist punished you because you probably didn’t play it right. Punch is the reason he has literally any advantaged matchups currently.
I’d honestly prefer the damage get nerfed like Dvas boosters and Brigitte’s shield bash. Nerfed to do virtually no damage and force people to use the move primarily as a combo, stun, escape method, with the stun on walls as a follow-up combo via primary shot.
Not 100 wall damage, but more like 25 or less. The move itself shouldn’t be a massive damage dealer for 4 seconds. The move itself is completely overloaded exactly like Brigitte’s early shield bash was with 600 hp shield, 6m fast, 90deg arc for stun, went through shields, 5sec cooldown, and did 50 damage.

The primary hate for doomfist is his CC in general.
His punch is being commented on alot rn because every other aspect of his kit has been nerfed. Did you not realise that?
His 20 to 15m range nerf, his uppercut nerf.
If you buff the other CC and nerf one CC, people will complain alot more

Buffing Doomfist is not “good” for everyone imo. Alot of casuals and competitive players just dont like CC and his CC is irritating.
Yeah and I hate roadhog for similar reasons. Once again these changes don’t fix the problems, but are a big step in the right direction for both doom players and those on the receiving end.
Its completely the punch aspect. His CC is worthless if you do not die and if someone can start healing you through his damage you can live. Its the wall damage you can’t heal through at all and some of his burst damage on follow-ups like → primary → uppercut is like 100dmg. The CC is perfectly fine.
doomfist punch would then be used exclusively for cc and stun. That would be even less fun. Also he would literally need GIGA BUFFS in pretty much every aspect which would just make his combos or ult hated in the same way punch is. I would say my change is a good balance, and good dooms wouldn’t use it to engage anyway. Good dooms before punch was reliable (it was too buggy to be used) used it as mobility more than anything anyway.
Which is perfectly fine. You are no longer being both stunned out of actions and killed after the stun from hitting a wall. It requires follow-up and because it requires follow-up it allows for more counter play compared to a move on punch which literally gets all the perks to cancel itself, variable charge time, and 180 yeet himself out of damage. Its a very non-committal move once charging. Only while lanching.
Which by this point I am perfectly fine with other buffs to his kit because CC is perfectly fine in this game since all he does is knockback. Knockback is perfectly fine and its only the stun which is bother some, but as people pointed out its his only good mobility move on a 4sec cooldown.
Since people can’t yeet themselves into a team for a kill and only for a stun, its much more risky to try to use it for that further cementing using it only for stun and combo play. Not fishing for kill attempts.
As I said before, buffing a hero is not necessarily a good thing for everyone.
Best example is how they gave mei the “pierce” effect thats a buff meant to make mei more competitive and engaging and look at her now.
Doomfist is a hero thats when ever touches meta will have a ton of posts about asking for nerfs to him because he is just not a character anyone likes going against.
Sure compare him to your hate you have for other heroes but you need to consider does everyone hate that hero? has this hero seen an abnormal amount of comments and post about this hero?
Roadhog (in the last 2 years to be exact) has not seen or does not hope to see the same amount of “He is so not fair or unfun to play against” especially when he as overbuffed (what I am trying to imply here is that doomfist gets much more hate than roadhog ever did)

Then when he sees viability (if he ever gets meta status again) people will use these buffs and say he got overbuffed and ask for nerfs because his CC is obnoxious to fight against.
As said in my opinion he should get reworked or soft reworked to where he isnt as unfun to against as he is rn.
