Need tips for playing widowmaker

just started playing out widowmaker .need tips to get myself better at it .also will appreciate if you can tell me your sensitivity settings

One common mistake that many Widowmaker players have is that they often miss their headshots.

Btw mine is: 200 DPI with 3.0 in game sens. But if you want to use this sens then you’re gonna need a much bigger mouse pad.

37.94 is the 1:1 perfect sens, so when you scope in you’ll have the same relative sens as when you’re unscoped

this is even lower than jjonaks, wtf is wrong with you? My friends say my sens is low when i use 900x3 LOL

If i want to turn a 90° to look to the right i have to move my mouse to the right by 20 cm.

I’ve tried this low sens out once and i practiced it for like 50 hours in Widowmaker HS only but i regret it cuz now i cannot aim with anything higher than this…

Also i have to use a DPI shift on my mouse which boosts my DPI up to 800 if i hold it down so when i have to turn 180° i usually use that then i release it so i can aim.

just gotta try it for a few hours, obv using higher sens at first is scuffed

type “Sit.” in chat every time you get a kill, even if it’s a body shot

People will instantly recognise you as a widow main

Idk, i’ve tried but it didn’t work for me anymore… When i have to click on small targets on longe range even this current sens feels too fast for me. Like when i move my mouse just a little it moves my crosshair waay too much for me so higher sens is impossible for me anymore

But also i cannot lower it cuz even now i’m struggling against flankers with this sens.

Target priority is important as widow.

#1. Enemy Widow
#2. Any threat attempting to kill you
#3. Supports
#4. Non Threatening DPS
#5. Tanks.

  • Try not to use standard widow spots that allow for the best vantage/sightlines too often. They can be good for getting an easy kill here or there, but most players are aware of these spots by now and will look for you.
  • Practice practice practice. Play as much widow as possible.
  • Have a good non-widow pick in your DPS roster, even top level OWL widow’s switch off in situations where you can’t be effective.
  • Be vocal, If you headshot a target and they are weak, call the target and their location to help your team secure the kill.
  • If there is an enemy widow who is as good, or better than you. Save ultimate to use after their ult. You want to minimize the power they get from their ult.
  • Use poison mines to cover flank routes, when you hear them trigger grapple to a safe zone and try to kill your attacker
  • Don’t worry too much about mouse sensitivity, settings etc. Get one that lets you comfortably do a 360, but also still allows you fine control between smaller distances. Sensitivities can vary in effectiveness for players depending on things like arm length, posture, wrist strength etc. So no sensitivity is a one size fits all solution.
  • If a body shot will get the kill, dont even bother aiming for the head. This one is SO IMPORTANT. Headshots are good, but in the end the only thing that matters is a dead target. Focus on securing kills.
  • Don’t fire at targets that you aren’t confident in killing, you will just build charge for the enemy teams supports.
  • practice your aim at many ranges. although widow is a mobile sniper, you will often have to engage at close and medium ranges as well. Be ready for that.
  • Practice
  • Practice Practice Practice
  • People who are better than you are better, because while you’re not practicing, they are. If you wanna win. If you wanna do better. Practice practice practice. When you think you’re done practicing, you should practice some more.

Thanks .those are some very good points

Avoid head tracking. Meaning don’t try to perfectly follow the head before the shot. Observe their movement, take your time, and place your crosshairs where you believe they will be.

Thank you .that is very good advice too

I like to think of it like dance dance revolution but with heads.

No, u cant have the same as unscoped

definitely can. Its a preference, some people like having their sens slowed down when they scope, personally i think it makes you more vulnerable to flankers than necessary
