Name the worst support duo

Wifeleaver + Mercy. I’ve never seen this combo be any good. Wow we have a bunch of healing and no enemy pressure while the enemy team can focus fire with their ana/kiriko/zen/bap/illari and annihilate people anyway. So great.

Lucio+Zen not enough healing to spread out and they don’t synergize at all

Zenyatta+Lucio is hands down the worst one, not enough heals to keep your tank up.

say you’re metal ranks without saying your metal ranks

MercyWife is a high healing but also fairly high flanking comp. it may be unusual to play but with mercy damage boosting a dps or a winston and wife being able to take what ever angle he wants, never die, and still be able to save a teammate for free, while maybe applying his own pressure with his honestly underrated m2 means this comp has a lot of potential.

You’d be surprised how many times I won with Lucio. Granted it was on maps like Lijang and Ilios more often but still.

You have no idea what you’re talking about lmao. Mercy and Lifeweaver are the easiest support heroes at low ranks. Actually they’re probably the best duo in low ranks. I don’t play where people do 20 dps a second, sorry.

Lucio Mercy. Nothing is close to the garbage of that duo

Lw and mercy + double sniper eith sigma is very workable on maps like havana. You just keep everyone alive till snipers get picks. Though I do think in most other cases its a pretty bad combo

LW + Mercy is the ultimate “things don’t die”. If your dps can carry with damage it’s not a bad combo at all. Play it with Bastion or Sojourn/Ashe pocket and let her shred while your tank just plays survival simulator and stalls the objective.

Really? I feel on koth maps with dive heroes it works really well. Aoe healing and single target. Speed and damage boost. Defensive and offensive ults. My personal favourite combo is mercy ana though, coincidentally my top 2 heroes

Lucio and Zenyatta are a bad combo. They can work, but require the tank and dps to have self-sustain. Good thing is they both have defensive ults, which can be great if rotated properly.

Tank just dies in this comp. Those two just have no synergy whatsoever. Lucio Zen is better because you can at least sustain a bit with two defensive ults which was done back in like 2016. But yeah. I can’t think of any support duo worse than Mercy + Lucio. Lucio wants to go in, Mercy wants to stay away.

Maybe because im an old school mercy mafiosa but I want to go in? Like mercy + dive tank works since theres only 1 to keep alive

And that tank will explode if enemy actually focuses him. No matter the tank, even the sturdiest Orisa won’t sustain on Mercy Lucio heals. Winston etc have no chance.

I do agree that low healing and low utility is usually worse. But the games I’ve won playing Lucio/Zen are roflstomps, usually with a Genji and Tracer/Sombra, and Doomfist or Winston. It’s very specific team comp that can make it work. And the whole team with speed boost (I’m hyper aggressive Lucio too) apply far too much pressure for the enemy team to do anything. We overwhelm the enemy with hyper aggression.

This doesn’t really work if even 1 player is not hyper aggressive though.

With speed boost and discord, your whole team is upon their squishies and they are instadead, so you don’t need high amounts of healing.

Whole team needs to all in. And if 1 or 2 of their DPS flanked and killed our Zen, sometimes they’ll turn around and see their whole team dead, or they lose the 1 v 1 to Zen and it works out.

This type of comp needs to keep the snowball up though. Chasing down stragglers, keeping the space, killing fresh out of spawners. If the defenders get a full regroup and hold some good space is usually the make or break of that hyper aggressive comp.

This is actually a pro comp that focuses heavily on aggression. It is as the pros who did it said, and I qoute, “You don’t need healing or utility if everything dies fast enough to prevent a prolonged fight.”

Now if there is a prolonged fight and you have those two, best pray your teammates now how to use cover properly or are able to get that one pick needed to build the momentum needed to make this comp work.

No wayyy! When I play lifeweaver, mercy is always the bait. Everyone always targets her but they never realize the other healer. I usually save her with my pull

lucio+zen is obvious, but kiri+mercy is the objectively correct answer. its garbage.

Mercy and Lucio is perhaps my least favorite. It is low healing despite that really being all that is offered and both supports are rarely contributing to the fight (at lower ranks, specifically). It just feels like you have two people trying to afk farm their hero mastery Roly style. Not only that, but they are 2-3 more times likely to complain which is insanely triggering when they both have sub 1,000 damage and are still getting out healed by their supports.

What?? I main Mercy, and LW has been one of the best partners lately, now that people know how to play him.

Worst by far are Lucio + Zen due to no burst and short range for one of em.

Lucio + Brig are also terrible if the rest of the team is ranged like (Doomfist + Echo + Widow). However they are fantastic if the entire team is NOT ranged, like (Orisa + Reaper + Sym).

“We have all this extra healing, and our DPS don’t know how to push forward with all that extra healing. Might as well blame the supports.”

Ahh, I see.
