Name Origin (What is YOURS?)

Where did you get the idea for your Battlenet/Overwatch name (if you changed it to make it more OW related)

Mine originates from the Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

“To the matter at hand. I’m Phillip Strenger, but the blot(censored) around here call me the Bloody Baron…”

People often ask me if I just forgot the “L” in my username. It’s intentional.

My name is Ev.
Ev + Level Up = EvelUp

I’ve had to explain it far more often than I had expected.

I would’ve used my real name, but I share a name w/ one of the Overwatch heroes…so it’d be a little confusing to most people.

“Why do we have a Genji main named Winston on our team?”

(I’m a teacher)

It’s hilarious watching 2nd graders see my nameplate on my desk and try to sound out the name “Reinhard”.

Sombra needs buffs

Agreed, and so does Ana. They need to start focusing on making higher skill heroes actually playable.

I watched too much of “Wreck-It-Ralph” and I have a short fuse temper.

I took my first name, took the first 4 letters of my last name, added an S at the end, and combined them and boom JoeyFerrs.

I cannot stop imagining Reinhardt standing in front of a bunch of 7 year olds teaching maths while still wearing his gear.

Or just telling AMAZING STORIES OF HONOUR AND GLORY!!!

One day I was typing random words and making them look nice. I got this.

Then I decided to use it as my PSN name. Then reddit. Then various games. Then discord (later changed it). Then Overwatch (also changed it when I made a different account)

I do an afterschool program called ACE which involves enrichment activities like film club, gardening, etc…and for those 2 hours my 2 clubs are 5th graders who play OW religiously (some moved to Fortnite).

I’m a voiceover artist (2nd job) (small time) and there’s nothing funnier than starting the after-school session with voice impersonations of each OW hero.

My best one (reaction wise) was when we were outside and saw the next door middle school’s football drills.

“WE SHALL PROVE OURSELVES…IN GLOOOOOO-RIOUS COMBAT!!!”

My original name was Inky, I used to go by The Taste Of Ink on steam so people ended up calling me Inky for short. Got bored of it and I have no idea how I came up with Harrowed.

Mine is just the name of a Final Fantasy character. The one in the image.

Did the devs shut down the earlier post of the same topic?

Idk. Did they shut down the countless duplicate “Mercy is OP” posts?

Like… maybe 12 or so years ago, I used to love pokemon and played pokemon games all the time. At the time, there was a thing called pokemon crater which was just a pretty basic version of pokemon on the pc. They had a pokemon called “Darkrai” and this was before Darkrai was announced on TV. I thought that pokemon looked cool af, so I made my name “Darkrai” on pokemon crater, but the name was taken. Since my name was taken, they gave me other names I could use instead based on the name I tried to use. One of the names was “Darkrai203” and ever since then, almost every game i played, I named myself Darkrai203.
Nowadays I don’t watch or play pokemon, but I still use the name anyways.

Quasar is a cloud of heated matter circling around a super massive blackhole. Quasars are the brightest things in the universe (a little science lesson). Why i named myself Quasar is an inside joke…

(What. Inside joke, is an inside joke.)

I am a fanfiction writer. My name is the surname of my first ever created fanfiction character. Even though the fanfic, where he was the protagonist, was pretty bad, I kept his surname as my signature. Because it is where my journey started.

Is it pronounced rookie or roo-key?
