Where you can’t unlock the next one with the currency you get from the current battle pass? Why do you only get 800 for completing the battle pass when it cost 1000 to unlock them?

They still implement it, but you can buy the normal one with currency now. What a win… right?

it’s already a F2P game and you still want to pay once and never after, remeber the old lootbox? that’s why OW1 stop making enough profit
I’d rather there just not be a battle pass or at least have it not be limited time. I’d rather the game just be 60 bucks and not have to deal with all the free to play trash. Or if it is free to play, reasonable prices for things that encourage interaction with the game and it’s facets.
Instead we get none of that. FOMO and greed, and for every game that succeeds with it the next is worse about it. At least we still have indies and Nintendo.
It’s f2p to anyone who started playing in 2022, everyone prior was forced in this microtransaction fest.
The things you got for free by leveling up which let you get like 95 to 98% of all cosmetics for free? Yeah I remember them, wish they were back.
What is there to prove that Ow1 wasn’t making profit? Over 40 million people bought the game before it went f2p, that’s a lot of money even by AAA game standards. What we’re seeing now is just corporate greed.
Let’s not ride them and pretend that the game is more comsumer friendly now than it was back then.
all the cosmetics are carried over, no one lost anything, you can simply stop paying , which i believe most player even didn’t do, and you’ll never get ripped off

it’s basic math, you paid like 20 or 40 bucks and never need to pay for anything else, if OW was a single player game and that won’t be a problem. Sadly it’s a live-service game. Develope, maintenace, customer service are all costs.
sure free loot box is cosumer free, but how do free feed mouths? it’s not good for company, in the long term cosumers eventually stop getting benefits anyway.

PvE made a poor sale and the next thing from the boss is to cancel the following project, why? bc it doesn’t make enough profit. loot box and shop with the same reason
sorry, i’m jsut more practicle and i want OW can keep running for a long time, so i’m willing to pay 20 bucks every two months, plus nice skin makes my day

To be honest battlepasses are lame.
Adds nothing to the experience. I much prefered the gamble boxes. Because at least it says “Thank you for playing” whereas the BP feel like “Nyah nah! You need to give us money!”
Name another battle pass that gives you
• 1 mythic skin
• 5 legendary skins
• 3 epic skins
• 3 intros
• 5 emotes
• 7 poses
•+ all the extra scraps, sprays, icons etc
worth of value….
Only game that even comes close is fortnite but even those skins and cosmetics are very hit and miss per season. Most of the time its generic man/woman with accessory. Or some very apparent emote slapped in to make up the numbers. Usually its only the end reward that you actually want, more often some collab skin. The other cosmetics go into your collection never to be used
Thats why ow doesnt give you all your coins because the value proposition for what you can earn is much higher than most other games
If you dont think this is the case why are people so desperate to get their hands on mythics to the point they cry because they couldnt get both this season. If ow’s battle pass was perceived to be low value then people wouldnt be fussing about it.

It’s totally understandable if you dont like the theme so choose to pass on it. Or the heroes you play didnt get anything so you skip it. Thats fine. The devs are constantly trying to add new systems to try and make that pain point less for players.
Adding coins made buying the battle pass even when there was not much you wanted a more appealing proposition considering you could reclaim some of your coins back anyway.
Adding mythic prisms means if you dont like the mythic its still worth getting the battle pass so you can get either a mythic you missed or a future mythic you do want immediately

Look at apex, yes you get your coins back but you only get 2 legendary skins… usually 2-3 emotes and thats it. The rest is trackers, badges, recolors etc.
So you comparing the prices without comparing the return in investment is just misleading and doing yourself a disservice. Ow costs more in the entry fee but you get a better a more valuable battle pass experience. Apex BP takes 1-2 months of pure grind. Ow BP you can get in 2-3 weeks

600, it’s 600 coins actually.
And i wouldn’t mind this at all if they didn’t downgrade already pretty mid BP in the last few seasons. Started putting recolors in it, lowered the quality of the cosmetics and lowered the number of the cosmetics. It’s terrible. The one and only selling point of it is the Mythic skins. The rest is pure

Just sounds like all the people who like to say skins arent valuable whilst people were literally malding over pink mercy for 5 yrs
Personally, just getting the mythic is worth the asking price of $4 by the end of it for me. Higher value than most other battle passes offer their players
Should we really be comparing ourselves to that EA crap?
