Mythbuster: Moira autoaim?

This is not a topic where a nerf is requested, but an analysis.

Moira’s aim It’s autoaim? Many users use the Symmetra beams as a comparison (in all its versions). In reality, Moira’s beam is not the same as any type of beam in the game.

The problem arose from the consistency between the distance, the cone of action and the graphic effect. Here are some examples (in gif image):

As you can see, Moira’s cone of action changes according to the distance of her target: the closer it is, the greater the amplitude compared to what is marked. On the contrary, in its maximum distance (20 m) the viewfinder faithfully represents the circumference of the beam. This means that when the target is close, Moira must turn less on herself than Symmetra, Zarya and Echo do with their beams. This explains the many different opinions that Moira has the autoaim or not.

We also want to report different types of implications in case of nerf done in an inadequate way (I repeat, solutions are not being suggested, only analysis)

  • Moira’s self healing exists to make the idea of “vital energy sucked from the enemy”, making Moira more devious in her concept;
  • The problem that is found in Moira is not the damage per second that it gives but the very strong reachability of her kit , which if on the one hand she needs to recharge its resources, on the other she gets involved in departments that do not compete (DPS);
  • It should be noted that unfortunately the Kill counter validates the killing in Moira even though the teammates did most of the work. Example - Genji manages to wound about 98% of the life of enemy Reinhardt, and Moira ends him with her beam: the kill is validated for both despite the merit is above all of Genji. this causes a disproportionate enrichment of gold medals on kills.

Thanks for reading. Feel free to link this explanation topic every time you see someone accuse Moira of Auto-aim.

Personal Note

I think the developers need to fix the consistency between what the viewfinder shows and Moira’s actual cone of action. Only in this way is it possible to determine any nerf based on what the user perceives by eye.
