Mystery Heroes RQ, No One Asked For This

I’ve never lost more faith in this company losing the plot than replacing regular MH with role queue MH.

This defeats the purpose of the mode entirely. The chaotic nature of the game, the swinging of the odds, the moments where you overcome insane comps, the fast sweeps, the meme comps, the antics, the fun.

No regular player of this mode wanted or asked for this. Patch notes don’t even offer a flimsy justification for this. It just says go make a custom game to play OQ MH. What the hell Blizzard.

they replaced it??

oh god open queue is the only reason the mode is actually fun or wacky

i have over 1k hours in MH, that sounds like they completed ruined it

Agreed. I suspect there’s people who didn’t like MH because they faced a lopsided game and said “not for me.” But those of us who are regulars have already sorted ourselves there for really good reasons. Mostly because it’s low toxicity and high fun.

Luckily the og mystery heroes is in arcade.

LITERALLY NO ONE. it was unbalanced and random af that was the fun thing about it.

The mode existed almost as long as Overwatch has been around and they changed it something that defeats the whole purpose. Mind boggling.

Relegating a beloved mode to a small tile in the arcade (and BTW, the patch notes actually only said it should be available as a custom game) is baffling. There’s so many issues with going to RQ…

  • MH is supposed to be exactly that - a mystery.
  • it takes out so much variety in team comps and strategy
  • it introduces ridiculous queue times should you (heaven forbid) ever want to queue dps.
  • it’s just not as fun - subjective I know, but I’ve played several games now and it feels virtually the same as RQ QP
  • I can already see it leading to toxicity (“tank diff” , “no heals”, “dps no damage” etc…). There’s none of that in normal MH.

I don’t get this change at all. Like you say in the topic, who asked for this?

I’m not against trying new things out but why not put RQ in the arcade and leave normal MH alone? I’ll stand corrected if this resonates with the broader community but I’d be amazed if it does.

thats just a poorly thought out change overall

there’s about 60-70 dedicated mh players in my region and now it seems the already kind of small playerbase will just be split further

arcade queue times are trash because i’m willing to bet no one even bothers to click on the arcade section

they probably asked that stupid chatGPT what they should do

Mystery means not knowing. Whatever dev thought this was a good idea…no, it’s not. We need the idiot sandwich meme here.

I have been asking for it for years now. So glad it finally became a thing.

Chances are that some corporate idiot out of touch with the game saw changing it as a way to increase some metric or anything idiotic like that.

If this is the new MH I’m done with your game.

Not surprised. People complained about unbeatable comps in mh as if that wasnt the whole point of it. I hope the mode dies so the 3 people that complained can sit in q waiting for a game forever

It is poorly thought out. But at least they didn’t entirely delete the mode. It still exists in a form where one can get progress on some battlepass challenges.

And the more people know about it being in the arcade, the more people keep playing it.

its blizzard. if they’re promising to make things more fun by 10 times,

expect that they actually ruined it by 1000 times worse than your expectation

they didn’t replace it, you can just go to the old mode instead of being weird about it

Not replaced. I didn’t ask for it, but I’m happy I got it.

For now. That’s just temporary I’m sure.

Yep thankfully they didn’t actually replace it, they just hid it away in arcade and barely mentioned it in the patch notes

Not like arcade queue times make it actually unplayable because no one even knows it’s there
