Mystery heroes role queue praise

Honestly it’s just the most fun mode in the core game by a lot. No one can ever tell you to switch, no one really expects you to be good with every hero, you will never be countered for the sake of being countered and team counters are like winning the lottery. It’s absolutely peak overwatch IMO and I really really want a ranked version of it. It’s truly a game mode for being a generalist and it’s so rewarding.

I actually really like this mode. I was skeptical at first but I actually prefer it to the old mystery heroes and even the core game mode personally.

What is with the nonsensical appreciation threads? is it a new meme?

It is an improvement indeed, as the horrible RNG of

  • They have support and we dont
  • They have multiple tank and support and we dont

and similar stuff is now stable.
Tank players can play tank, and they get to try a variety of it.
same for other roles.

Best bit, you cant counter pick, the entire element is not there. An improved version of Role queue, infact, the most stable version of queue in any mode would be this one.

At least they had the decency to put the mode in a permanent slot unlike the balanced MH they made couple years ago.

It’s probably helpful for the devs to know what we do like sometimes too. Negative feedback alone can only get you so far.

i got hate on the forums for enjoying it.

because people can’t counter pick you. thats the reason i got hate.and because we deleted og open q, which i played yesterday so i can confirm its deleted and inaccessible. not.

i also love that it forces people off their comfort picks. you can’t stay on reaper, junk or whatever and it can happen they are forced on genji and co.

Been like 2 months or so since they changed it? Idk it completely killed the MH queues in my region at least

It’s completely different people playing the RQ mystery heroes that I don’t even know

Zzzz

I probably would give role mystery a fair try if all your ultimate charge carried over to next hero if you got eliminated. Atleast in its open variant there was the possibility to sustain certain enemy ultimates and overcome snowball effect more organically if you were lucky to roll 2-3 tanks on your team

Are people not allowed to say they enjoy things? Every single thread doesn’t need to be negative.

I initially was against the change, but I was completely wrong. It’s by far the most fun gamemode that exists right now. A mode without needing to counterswap to deal with tanks is fantastic.

That isn’t a huge achievement with how low the bar already is :joy:

Yeah it did here too for a bit but it’s finally picking up again. I think ya know it’s MH people were probably skeptical about it ha ha. But it’s truly great. I still queue as all but then I just stick for the hole game to whatever I have. I find it incredibly fun but yes the wait time got pretty bad for a while but it has been picking up. Especially during peak hours, I’m kinda hosed in any queue at 9am lol

Something is seriously wrong with you. You cant stand seeing anyone saying they like a game they play lol.

Get off of here and go get help, you have been living in misery for years.

If you cant stand seeing people say they like something about Overwatch on the overwatch forum then you are the problem, not them

Way to not read sarcasm. I think YOU are the one that needs to get off the forums and go catch some fresh air.

I often can only play late at night when everyone else has gone to bed. Old MH would have long queue times and often I would give up, even though it is OQ. I’d wait several minutes and quit and go back to standard modes.

But RQ MH is completely different. Even at 1am I’m getting games within 3 minutes, often a lot quicker. Queue time estimate might say 7 minutes, but it always finds games in under 3. It seems to be much more popular than OQ MH, at least in EU.

At more normal times I get games within 1 minute no matter what the queue times say (even when I’m getting games in 30s the queue time estimates often still are more than 5 minutes which must be putting some ppl off from queueing).

The mode is so much better than OQ MH. Knowing you will have supports and a tank makes it a lot more fun to play and a lot less frustrating.

If they brought out comp for it then it would be the first comp I actually play.

Members of the balance team should be forced to play each role in RQ MH every day. They would learn a lot about each hero and their counters and their power level when counters are not played. For example, DVa without beam counters just runs the game and won’t die. Zarya doesn’t really have meaningful counters and queen is a beast just now and near unkillable in RQ MH unless you get a good counter-comp.

They might also notice the rng issues. Hardly see hitscans so Pharah can often mean it’s a GG from the start. I get hog 1/3 to 1/4 as often as I get Ram or Doom. In fact, I get the heroes I normally play way less often (I’ve tracked the heroes at the start of each game for many, many games, and it’'s not just my bias noticing the lack of randomness).

Im stuck inside with cancer. That wasnt sarcasm, every post they have ever made for years and years has been a salty complaint about OW. They really do need help

all that also describes the normal non-RQ MH as well

as ive been saying for 8 years now…simply not choosing your hero solves a LOT of the games “issues”

Agreed, I just personally find the role queue solves a lot of the problems the oq version of it has with the rng comps. Like you truly can make do with any 1-2-2 setup so it works out mostly.
