I think this mode would be greatly improved if the rng was unable to roll multiples of the same character at the same time on a team. I just played New Queen Street where out of the gate the enemy rolled THREE Orissa’s, a Lucio, and a Torb. It was a roll of course, even with us trying to comm and work together. I love the rng aspect of mystery heroes but when things like this happen, it ruins the mode and its an issue that could easily be fixed with limits. So frustrating.
its. mystery. 3 orisas is hilarious, laugh it off, gg go next and it’ll happen randomly 50 games down the line for your team too
Or…the mode could just not double and triple up on heroes and be more fun that way, in my opinion. It happens a lot. Double Moira, double Lucio, double Bastion, its not a rare occurrence and it sucks every time it happens.

The only time 3 of anything is frustrating is when the enemy rolls 3 supports because you gotta keep jumping off the map to get a widow.
They should experiment with hp regen for all heroes in mh
I like the randomness of it, like a… mystery!
I think the change to only 3 of each type was enough.
Yeah it just loses the illusion of random, when it doesnt feel random, for example you shouldnt get same hero twice in a row feels less random.
I expect it to be random and chaotic, but i domt know why a team is allowed to have more than 2 tanks and healers. The team that wins ALWAYS has multiple tanks and supports it does get frustrating after a while

I think it would be so much more fun if it came down to which team had the best flex players instead of which team drew multiples of the most OP heroes.
Good flex players & a team that can semi-work together can do that.

I love Mystery Heroes. But I wish they would have a more restrictive version. I think a Mystery Heroes that didn’t allow duplicates would be a really fun mode, and a good mode for new players to learn the game as well.

Nah, I think it’s fine the way it is. It makes you learn much faster how different heroes can be paired with others. I and others learned plenty well with no restrictions on MH.
Yesterday I got 2 DVas, another tank (can’t remember which), me as Ana and a Mercy.
First round king’s row on attack our team got 47 kills and their team got 1.
Next round they actually won so it was purely rng and the fact we have 2 DVas basically eating all damage, and 2 supports out of the gate. It would have been better without being able to have 2 DVas.
Also a couple of tanks are too weak and a couple are too strong. No tank should be able to get 1-shot by widow without damage boost or discord. But that’s not the case. And Sigma, with all his damage mitigation, is hardly impacted by his lower health and lives through a whole round way too often. Zarya is similar.
They should individually balance the tanks instead of the single HP reduction for all. It’s better than it was but it’s still a bit of a mess.
I didnt realise killing yourself didnt reset your hero until today. Where i accidentally jumped into the well.
Also tbf regular MH was a 40+ minute queue in Australia so i dont know every intricacy
Comp mh should absolutely not have stacking…there’s a lot of comments on here about it being “fun”…and there’s two things to point out here:

For every team having “fun” there’s also one team decidedly NOT having “fun”…otherwise known as “unfun”

we’re not talking MH here…we’re talking “competitive” MH…something which as OP is pointing out is NOT happening when it occurs because of how impactful it is
Fun is super subjective and I would argue it doesn’t belong in regular MH either because of that duality it has as being both fun and unfun (and unfun is what causes changes in OW)….but it is entirely nonsensical to have a mechanic that is so influential in the game flow that one can EASILY call it game breaking, in a “competitive” game mode…to even call it that at that point is a farse
To put it plainly…It’s simply idiotic to have it in comp MH
Haven’t played comp version, but duplicate heroes definitely should not be a thing in a competitive environment. We all saw how oppressive 6 Torbs was and they introduced no dupes because of that, but a role lock is kind of silly I think.
I also think 3 tanks is just too much. When you get up against 3 tanks and 2 supports it’s already a GG. I’ve experienced both sides of that several times and it’s either you rolling or being rolled.
2 tank max would be much healthier and then 4 max of the other roles. And look at the balance of the tanks and sort out sigma and zarya who stomp way too much in MH.
