My thoughts on Doomfist and What are yours?

I believe Doomfist is in a fine place right now and doesn’t need changes, here’s why. Doomfist in the right hands can destroy and entire team easily. He also has great mobility with his punch when you cancel it, making him able to get out of fights pretty easily as ling as the player knows when to go for someone and when not to. The only bad part of his kit is his meteor strike since the fall off damage is pretty high and can easily be avoid since of the cast time to hit the ground. What is everyone else feelings on Doomfist?

Edit: I have changed my opinion on him just look down the post to see what I think now.

Meh, I just want to see what others think and if people agree.

His E still feels really weird. The time it takes to land feels bad and its cone shape is strange for trying to hit someone close to you.

His meteor strike I think needs some kind of displacment effect so you can’t get auto stunned upon landing. Its almost as bad as Reapers teleport. “Hey Guys, I will be in the center of this red circle in 1 sec…please don’t sleep/hook/stun/charge me during that 1 sec where I can’t move or use abilities.”

Also, if he is exploding the ground…why are shields able to stop this damage???

I really like that doomfist is very hard to play because he can be so rewarding. Whatever changes he gets should maintain his difficulty but increase the reward

I want his meteor strike damage buffed 300 damage is too weak, I also want his survivability buffed too. Maybe make uppercut and seismic slam cd 6 sec.

Instead of me making an extremely long rant on my opinion as to why I believe that is false, I’m just going to say this. No. He is in an absolutely atrocious place. There are many forums explaining exactly why, so I will not rewrite what’s already been said. To make a long story short though…

Why would you use his staple ability. The ROCKET PUNCH for mobility? That’s a bad design right there. On top of its lackluster damage unless you make contact with a wall given that it will even function properly due to bugs.

Seismic slam is ridiculous. Too awkward and you never know if you’ll “Do that little hop” or just slam straight down. Anyone who watches Doomfist for more than fifteen minutes can telegraph exactly where you’re going.

Don’t even get me started on Rising Uppercut. Misses due to how incredibly close you have to be. You’re a floating target if you used any other abilities. It’s honestly garbage.

As for his ult. Probably the easiest thing to avoid that I’ve seen since preworked Deadeye dude. His entire kit is flawed in the fact that he’s this massive dude who by the way can’t even punch with his fist.

That little hand canon garbage makes me very upset personally due to a few things.

  1. It was never in the animated short. I’m all for new ideas, but DoomFIST. Why in God’s name does he shoot? He doesn’t need range. He’s a master martial artist. He already knows how to get in range with all that training. Given how he pretty much took on two ranged heroes and a tank in the short, I don’t see why they thought this was a good idea.

  2. The damage is just atrocious. It’s a monster at close range given that you headshot and hit everything, but you have to be very close. I mean VERY close.

TL;DR : He is in a bad spot and needs changes. What types? There are other forums riddled with great ideas.

P.S. He’s the only one with a FIXED reload mechanic, so if you burn out every skill and your shots, you’re free ult charge.

I think he’s in a good spot too.
Just watch Shadder2k’s stream and he destroyed with him.

so are you saying that rein ults should also ignore barriers?

if so, then rein would be extremely powerful and rein battles would be a race for the ult that i extremely doubt any would enjoy.
if not, then it creates an inconsistency, and these inconsistencies are bad because they’re making simple mechanics convoluted and illogical…

He is countered too easily. Needs CC resist on 1 of his moves.

Worst hero in the game. He should have been a bit like brigitte,great in cq with no cooldown for his primary attack. Rocketpunch is too good to have no cooldown obviously. But in his current form he just sucks. Only a rework can make him better imo.

This is coming from a GM Doomfist main.
I dont think DF is bad, I think he is countered very easily. And obvs they cant just nerf every single one of df’s counters.
What i would suggest though is that you reduce his cd on RU and SS by 1 sec, OR buff his ultimate so it isnt a Tracer recall anymore.

Some time ago I saw pro top500 Bastion wrecking enemy team… yep, I doesnt make him “fine”, he’s still garbage.

I think he needs more bug fixes and that’s mostly it.

he feels underwhelming but that’s just me some can use him but for me he seems insane when it comes to difficulty

Here’s what I think of Doom right now: He’s underpowered and isn’t able to be effectively played by anyone who isn’t in the 1% of the player base. Here’s the fix he needs.

Correction, bastion has been, and will be the worst hero. His play rate and win rate will show it. Also I feel he shouldn’t be like brigitte since they fill different roles. His primary fire is not the focus of his kit but it fits in well with it since you can use it in between each ability.

My biggest gripe with him is how many counters he has ,and how hard they counter him ,and how popular they are.

After playing him for a little more I realized that his hit box is stupid. It very large for 250 hp and his passive shield is unreliable. He get countered easily by hanzo, widow, reaper, mccree, solider, etc. So maybe what they need to do is increase his health or the generated shielded amount from his abilities.
