Still dumb they only gave it a month to if that changed anything…and lets not forget, wasn’t Moira added shortly after the rework too?
I responded to that thread I believe?
The basics of why negative feedback from a customer is always better than positive feedback.
Why? Because it impedes any progression towards improving the game the company and most importantly for us all.
Moira was released on May, 2017. Depends what month season 5 was.
Aria Rose is an idiot and never to be taken seriously. Her YouTube channel basically exists to reinforce the stereotypes that Mercy mains are hysterical, reactionary, and clueless about the balance of the game, including their own main. If someone like her is upset with you, you’re probably doing something right. Keep it up.
Aha! Mercy’s (then final nerf to Valk) was done just as Moira was released…soooo in other words; they were still tweaking Valk during that time.
I wouldn’t take it personally, it’s not you dude. It’s that the devs have been silent for quite a while and are continueing to ignore the abysmal balance job they’re doing instead of addressing any real community concerns. The only comment we got from them in months is to acknowledge praise. I think that’s really shoddy, narcissistic, and egotistical of them.
It’s not fair that people harassed you because you enjoy the game.
It was made before Overwatch even existed.
Yikes, that’s some salt you got there. Why would I be upset with the dude? I never mentioned him nor do I know him well. Guess you wouldn’t know that though since you’re blindly hating me without even watching the video in question.
A large part of the community is displeased with the lack of content, information and especially communication from blizzard’s part.
You made a thank post and it clearly got south, but you didn’t really need to make another thread about this, especially in such a way.
Why are you seeking more attention, do you realize that this thread will create even more harassment for you?
I’m really sorry some individuals got to harass you, report them or block them, don’t throw oil into the fire.
You don’t need to apologize. They need to apologize.
I shall always support Overwatch, they should support it too.
Any time I’ve seen a video from you, it’s an overreaction to a Mercy nerf, some fake outrage over something said on the forums, or you complaining about the devs. So yeah, I don’t dedicate any of my time to watching your videos when they’re posted here at this point. The impression I got from reading the OP is that something said in your video resulted in your fan base harassing them, so I figured it was a fair assumption to make that it was a negative comment directed at them. If that’s not the case, I’d be happy to take my comment back. Calling you an idiot was rude and probably taking things too far, so I’m sorry for that, but I’ll still stand by not taking the opinions in your videos seriously since you pretty obviously have something to gain from an audience of riled up Mercy mains.
But you’re still going to go and reply to someone claiming that Aria’s video slammed them when even the OP said it was a mistake and you admitted to not watching the video. Hmmmmmmmm… At least you apologised. Props for that.
Never asume something without checking the proof first, that just causes problems.
Appreciate the apology. Just to elaborate though, I’d still be making my videos even if I didn’t have an audience. I enjoy getting my thoughts out there in the form of videos.
You definitely can hold part of the responsibility when you make a positive post out to be negative because the devs don’t talk about the character you want, but takes the time out to thank op (and the community) for the support.
Anyway, no one here works for blizzard so no one really knows how things go, which leads to videos being made over assumptions and unknown notions…
You’re essentially accusing her of a thought crime. If she didn’t say “Go attack this person”, then she is not at fault if people take her critic to the next level.
Yes, that is how it works. Blizzard won’t release their data so we have to hinge on what they say. When we have issue with something they say, we talk about it. There’s nothing wrong about it. We have to assume where there is no information.
Thanks for that. I usually have fans asking me about Overwatch since they know I play (or used to). I think I am going to share that to my relevant social media.
Honestly honey, trust me when I say, it’s not your fault. Period.
Don’t think that the blame is on you, ever.
What you did was one of the more decent things I’ve seen on the forums in the last two weeks. Really, more people should be following in your footsteps. And if they can’t bring themselves to thank the devs and mods, for whatever reason, then they should at least control their tempers and be actually decent humans.
I don’t care what those Mercy mains said on your post. I don’t follow the mass hysteria of the group. Yes. I want Mercy back too. I want her “viable” again, and I want her fixed. I want her balanced, but more than all of that, I want to be able to have fun with my main again.
But, such is life. And life takes time to evolve. And those people should know better than to saddle their rants and ravings and bloodlust on some poor guy trying to say thanks to the devs. Devs, whom people seem to forget a lot, are actual human beings.
Let me say that again. THEY ARE ACTUAL, REAL-LIFE HUMAN BEINGS, THAT DO THIS AS THEIR JOB AND PROFESSION, BECAUSE THEY LOVE IT, AND THEY LOVE THAT PEOPLE LOVE WHAT THEY CREATE. YOU ARE TRYING TO PUNISH HARD-WORKING (and yes, they ALL work to some degree) PEOPLE, AND GIVING THE EXCUSES THAT BLIZZARD IS A GREEDY TREASURE GOBLIN TRYING TO BUILD UP IT’S HOARD IS NOT HELPING. PERIOD.
You people are hell-bent on trying to obliterate what you claim is unjust, unfair, unbalanced, while all the while you’re just being uncaring. These people have families, these people have lives, and these people have feelings.
No wonder nobody’s responding to the forums right now -you’re absolutely ruthless and unforgiving. And you have the audacity, the absolute gall, to try and take someone’s kind words and twist them towards your own biased and selfish agendas.
FOR SHAME. For F**KING shame.
Sorry. I had to get that out there, while I was still angry about it.
Pineapple, I’m sorry for two things: that you got harassed, and that you probably like pineapple on pizza. If the later is true, well, you’re on your own about that. But, no one should have had to have gone through the former, least of all you.
You don’t need to say sorry. You didn’t do anything wrong in the first place. Now, keep on posting good forums. Lord knows we need them at a time like this…
What even happened here?
Don’t forget, actual human beings are still subject to criticism on decisions that are questionable at best.
i.e. diverting resources to build the league instead of working on a new game feature.
I manage a coffee shop, if I kept it in poor condition and sold bad coffee do I get a pass because “I’m just human”? Or do my customers say “screw this, if they wont improve i’ll just get coffee elsewhere”. Better yet, what if I suddenly decided “hey guys, I know we’re a coffee shop but we’re gonna market pizza for now, and try to convince people that’s what they are here to buy.” What then?
I completely agree with that. They are working at a company, that company needs money, and decent services/products will get them money. That’s not the issue I have. The issue that I have, is that everyone takes that idea, and blows it waaaaaaay out of proportion, to the point where they’re complaining about every. Single. Thing.
Everysinglething.
And some offer suggestions on how to fix things. Some don’t. Some just sit and type on their keyboards and list off everything they personally don’t like, whether it’s respectfully or just because they like the feeling of ranting non-stop.
The point I was trying to make, is that this whole community’s mindset of ‘Rant about X getting nerfed again’, or ‘Rant about how it’s not fun to do Y’, is being re-eaten and regurgitated all over the forums. I hardly see a purely fun post anymore. 1/3 of all of them so far are about Mercy (at least), a good handful are on Brigitte, more are on DPS heroes, more on ‘unfun’ aspects of the game, some on re-works of heroes, and a few on various new bugs that may or may not have been addressed yet.
The rest are either posts by Jelly or new theory threads.
And there are a good number of posts that are bashing either the mods or devs. A couple are written and addressed civilly, but they soon turn into breeding grounds for more people to complain. And then they start to hate.
And then they start to blame everything on the devs.
I just wanted to point out the fact that the Development team and the Forum Moderators aren’t just a bunch of automated service bots. They aren’t souless beings of creative force that aren’t being put to work. They are people too. And putting an insane amount of stress on them isn’t going to help them do whatever you want. In fact, it’s going to make them want to do the opposite.
Right now, yes. They are behaving as a company. And companies need money, yada-yada-yada. But don’t forget: behind the face of Blizzard are a few groups of people who are trying their best to give us what we want.
They’re not all greedy little misers who want nothing but our money.
They’re trying to make something that people will love. A work of art, if you will. And since people keep crapping all over their art, it’s no wonder they want to stay silent. I’m sure the majority, if not all of them, are trying their dammedest to make things work.
The hate is not helping.
It’s getting on my nerves. And I’m pretty sure it’s getting on a lot of other peoples’ nerves too…
