My PC restarts every time I start Overwatch 2(SOLVED)

I don’t know what’s going on, but I’ve installed and uninstalled several times, but it keeps happening.
Every time I launch the Launcher, the screen goes dark and my PC suddenly reboots without any warning.
I have updated drivers and all that.
That problem never happened to me with OW1
Has anyone experienced something similar or solved it?

Try updating your graphics drivers. Rebooting is usually a sign of driver instability.

Thanks for the help, But I also managed to solve the problem, It was the antivirus “360TotalSecurty” I had to close it completely and not just disable it.
I hope this solution works for someone who has the same problem

You are a genius. Exitting 360totalsecurity fixed it for me too

I have the same issue. I uninstalled my free Avast antivirus scanner and after that I could play some games. I quit and a bit later I wanted to play another match, but my PC restarted again. Does anyone know what else could the problem be? I did a windows update, Nvidia update, … already.

im getting the same problem incredibly frustrating

It’s a bug that’s causing CPUs to reach 100 degrees celcius, forcing your pc to switch off to protect your cpu from burnout. Install afterburner and check your temps when you’re in the queue.

if finally managed to get the game to load by disabling a lot of background apps. but that doesn’t get around the fact I’m now gunna have to sit in a 3 hour queue tho. :skull:

At first it was just at the startup of the game, without even being in a match. I don’t think it would reach 100° that fast. But I’ll check the afterburner app. Thanks for the tip.

So I just uninstalled nvidia geforce experience and avast free antivirus and now my temps don’t go to 100 degrees anymore. Looks like OW2 doesn’t like nvidia and/or anti viruses.

I just reinstalled the game. Checked the temperature, and my PC shut down at 68° while in afterburner it was set at 83°. I still get the same issue… I already had uninstalled Avast, so I’m gonna try with uninstalling geforce experience next. Let’s hope that helps me too Azgorath

EDIT: Uninstalling Geforce Experience seems to be doing the trick so far. No issues after two full matches. Good find mate!

EDIT2: It went fine for a couple of days, suddenly just now… PC restart at launch. Blizzard please fix your sh*t!

I have the same problem, but not only in OW 2, it used to happend sometimes in OW 1 and constantly in other games, reviewing the windows event viewer… always in each error an specific driver appeared named “AMDA00” or “AMD Interface” and it doesn’t allow me to uninstall it… it appears over and over again… anyone has the same error?

Also… Sometimes I can enter skirmish and sometimes hero selection but suddenly it restarts, no high temperatures in GPU or CPU or disk problems…

If your entire computer is crashing/rebooting then it’s not a bug in OW. A game/app doesn’t have the ability to fail so catastrophically to take down your entire computer. Even with maxed out CPU usage your CPU and GPU will throttle temps, and if that’s still not good enough then it’s inadequate cooling.

System instability is generally an indication of bad drivers/hardware, or a bug in the operating system itself.

disabling my CPU overclock solved the restart problems

No its a bugg Blizzard made a Twitter Post aswell

You’re computer is too smart for this world. It learned how to defend.
You better put it down before it grows legs and starts taking over the world.

Do you have a link?

User mode application crashes literally cannot bring down your entire PC. It would violate the most basic security principles in operating system design. If your computer is crashing while playing the game, it would be a bug in the OS or a driver, and caused by a specific calling pattern in the game that triggers said bug.

Yeah this doesn’t mean it’s a bug with the game - and in fact almost certainly isn’t. It is likely a driver bug.

Hi, Is there a solution yet ?

Have the same problem, did not have this problem with OW1.
