I dont think they were needed. BUT as a D.Va main I honestly feel I wasnt affected very much. I had to change some things yes but overall I can still carry no problem.
This game was from a few hours ago post patch.
People on the forums always whine about the matrix being OP. They whine because they lack the ability to counter play it. They whine because the D.Va dived them while they were out of position or to secure the kill. Well guess what? It isnt going to change. You will still get wrecked by us D.Va mains. You will still get punished, and you will be back on the forums eventually complaining about how OP the character is.
The D.Va cycle will repeat once again and we will rise, destroy you, and winky face on your corpse.

Agreed! Played her quite a bit yesterday and she did not feel to bad. Smart players can still manage DM, when to back off. D.va may be an easy hero to play, but in my opinion learning and using her kit takes a bit more focus!
D.Va is 100% a decision heavy character. Her kit is easy but the amount of choices she has to choose from is where the good and bad D.Va players separate. Yesterday in my group, two people played D.Va and were constantly complaining about how useless she was. They kept dying and feeding. Then I took the wheel and was constantly on fire with 3-4 golds and potg + card.
My biggest beef is the armor nerf. I feel so squishy now.

I already had a reserved play style though. Idk how to adapt.
Surprisingly i found its better to be more aggressive. People who suck at the game are like “yay the hero i spent months crying on the forums is nerfed! Now i can safely be out of position and not worry about matrix.” And then they make more mistakes and you destroy them. This is diamond-master level mmr so idk how it works higher up

I usually only get aggressive when I know I can do it safely… or I try to at least. I don’t like depending on other people being bad though xD
I was already a pretty aggressive d.va who knew how to manage dm. I really don’t care about this nerf

As a tank player who often plays her i got grilled a couple of times for selecting her and proved them wrong. I am up from 3323 yesterday to today back in masters 3626 and half of those games won were on dva you have to be a little bit more picky and aware what you have to matrix but she is still fine only takes a bit more skill. I think if i’m dead honest the patch did not warp the meta at all.

I haven’t had much time to play around with it, but I’ve managed to bust out a few MH rounds for the arcade wins and that was an experience.
Not gonna lie I was Reaper in my first round and the fear set in for real with three tank kills right out the gate like oh god what have I done, it’s real.
But, I got D.va on Busan after that and stayed alive all of both rounds just fine. First D.va round post patch and still no one can knock me off D.va in MH? I wouldn’t say I’m particularly scared.

I agree 100%. I don’t think she needed this nerf but i don’t think she is bad right now.
Yes, it’s harder to play D.va right now. Yes, i’ve been playing worried about my DM the whole games, but it’s still a really good ability.
Sometimes we just have to wait and test before we complain about a buff/nerf. My only concern about devs is that once the change is made, they take too long to fix the hero when it’s necessary.
I agree, the meta is not going to change because D.va was not the reason for goats.
