My opinion on some buffs Mercy could get

Since our beloved angel has been through hell itself I decided to give her a bit of my attention while paying Mercy I realized how fun she is. Great kit but there are some things that don’t quite work. So today I’m giving Blizz a bit of not “Revert mercy” but some info on some buffs to help her along the way to making her good again.

Before I start, keep in mind this is only my opinion and there’s no reason to get salty over this lol.

1. Changes to her Res
Her Res is… slow! You spend so long ressing that you waste time you could be healing on reviving someone.
Making her res faster will help her immensely, according to many mercy gameplays I’ve seen her res used to be instant, was maybe too fast but impactful!
Maybe making her res 1 second instead of 1.75 seconds will help.

I understand why many Mercy players thing res as an ability doesn’t work but I’m not here to complain but give advice.

2. Revert her healing
Now I understand Blizzard you just nerfed that but I never understood why, her healing as 60 hps was just fine! Please bring it back even a wiston can out damage my healing…

3. Small valk buff (or revert?)
Make valk have some type of connection to res, make it give you more healing and somehow connect it to res, maybe making res go down to 6 or 10 seconds while in valk.

That’s all I have so far! Hope Blizzard reads this and thinks about making our poor angel better soon! Her ult is ok? I don’t want Mercy to be the OP mess she was for a long time but just viable. Why pick Mercy if Moira has more consistent healing? Why pick Mercy when Ana has burst? It’s just a sad when I want to play mercy but she won’t impact as much as other healers.

edit: I understand this is a revert to OP valk mercy days but all of this can be balanced with small tweaks to things, blizzard is capable of that too.

Ana is fine, i just used her as example since she’s a main healer but it’s ok don’t worry. I’m used to the toxic people in the community, I just want to handle all the responses I will get positively.

Mercy had all of those things before, and she was the most powerful character in the game. Suggesting reverting her back to op valk would just make the game even worse.

Yes, that is true, I meant to bring it back with tweaks, make it more viable but avoid ever making her OP again. I love her but I don’t want OP characters in this game. Valk was OP at a point but I’m sure with tweaks on the old valk could make it impactful because right now it’s very unfun and weak.

I think Valk needs tweaks to make more engaging rather than stronger. Even godly overpowered Valk was boring, I don’t believe Mercy’s issue to be strongly related with balance.

The healing nerf should be reverted though, didn’t exactly understood that one.

Maybe make her ult instead of giving you two res charges have a 6 second cooldown on res while the ul is active? That could be impactful buff!

mercy was absolutely busted for 5 months and significantly overpowered for another 5 months. she also happens to be extremely easy and not in an awful state. none of these buffs would be warranted in the slightest. mercy should have never been able to compete with ana’s pick rate in GM to begin with.

Well I’m not very sure what your point is? But i made this to make a hero good again, nothing to do with ana’s pickrate so I’m a bit confused by what you mean.
And no her state is not awful, battle mercy is fun, she’s ok, but she’s too weak to compete with any other healer, zen and mercy are healers that are good but not in a good spot compared to other healers (more mercy than zen tbh since he’s pretty good and he’s and off healer too)

You might want to consider editing your post slightly. A lot of people seem to be misinterpreting it.
Valkyrie, to me, seems to be beyond saving without everyone freaking out and saying that essentially any changes will bring back the Mercy meta.

I do have a few suggestions, though. I like your idea of tying Rez to Valk. I, personally, would like the duration to be decreased to 10. On top of this, I would like to see her healing in Valk increased a bit more. 75HPS seems reasonable to me, but only for the main beam. This would encourage the Mercy to prioritize a bit more. A reduced cast time for Rez I’m Valk would also be nice… .25-.75 seconds would be nice imo.

I only want 60HPS base back, really. I sill hate Valk, but 60HPS would make things a lot less frustrating.

I wish you could crouch while rezzing

If not that, then the ability to heal while rezzing would be perfect and the only real change I can think of making

If they ever reverted her HPS back to 60 then they would need to revert the recently lowered cost of Valk to balance things but I feel like they’ll never give her back her 60 HPS outside of Valk.

everything in Mercy’s kit is fine (barring valkyrie, which is desperate need of a rework). She is still a very viable hero in my eyes.

Im not good with forums hhh, but basically instead of having res have charges maybe reduce res go from 30 to 6 second cooldowns so her ult is connected to somewhat res.

And yes just reverting her heal and tweak the ult charge again is a good option.

Now there’s so many types of buffs I liked, total reworks, mass res as ult again, more healing on valk, revert to moth meta mercy but make her fair and balanced so it’s not OP, ect.

I found Valk version 1 to be one of the most fun things in the game.

I do not want any of those changes implemented, as I like how Mercy is in her current state
