My March 2022 Balance Patch

Orisa

  • Shield HP increased to 750
  • Fortify no longer prevents headshot damage

Roadhog

  • Now gives the same ultimate charge as everyone else
  • Take a Breather now only grants 30% damage resistance

Sigma

  • Barrier Health won’t charge while Kinetic Grasp is being used.

Wrecking Ball

  • Grapple no longer breaks after 6 seconds
  • Shield per target reduced from 75 to 70.

Ashe

  • Dynamite damage reduced to 75 overtime
  • Hitscan damage now scales to 50% at maximum falloff range, up from 30%
  • Coachgun no longer knocksback the enemy player
    *Coachgun cooldown reduced to 9 seconds (if necessary)

Cassidy

  • 225HP lowered to 200
  • Hitbox slighty smaller
  • Hitscan damage now scales to 50% at maximum falloff range, up from 30%
  • Can no longer air roll
  • Reload time reduced to 1.2 seconds
  • Flashbang area of effect reduced to 2.5
  • Flashbang max range reduced to 6 meters
  • Fan The Hammer Damage reduced to 45

Echo

  • Focusing Beam max damage after half reduced to 150

Genji

  • Dragonblade damage increased to 125
  • Can no longer get damage boosted
  • Ultimate Cost Decreased by 15%

Hanzo

  • Arrow speed increased to 125
  • Storm arrow loses 2 arrows
  • No longer ricochets off of walls

Soldier 76

*Ammo reduced to 25

Tracer

  • Fall off is now starts at 10 - 20 meters.

Baptiste
Biotic Launcher

  • 22 DPB down from 24

Amplification Matrix

  • Width reduced from 9 to 7 meters

Immortality Field

  • No longer immortal just gives 30% damage resistance
  • Drone HP increased to 225
  • Cooldown reduced to 18 seconds

Brigitte

  • Barrier Shield Deploys in 0.35 seconds
  • Barrier only makes Brig slower by 15%
  • Inspire radius reduced to 15 meters
  • Inspire no longer stats with Repair Packs
  • Inspire resets upon death
  • Inspire now only lingers for 1.75 seconds
  • Rally now gives 10 armour per .5 seconds down from 15(20 per second)
  • Rally Ultimate charge rate reduced by 7%(buff)

Lucio

  • Now gains 15% more ultimate charge doing damage

Mercy
Valkyrie

  • Valkyrie duration lowered to 10 seconds
  • Main Healing Beam increased to 75HPS
  • Chain beams reduced to 40HPS
  • Beam range reduced to 20 meters
  • Main damage boost beam increased to 35%

Zenyatta
Orb of Harmony

  • Projectile speed increased to 120 from 90.

Orb of Discord

  • Projectile speed increased to 120 from 90.

  • Damage amplification reduced from 25% to 20%

Not in favor of the damage fall off increase. The reduction to 30% has finally opened up the game for other heroes to be played.

In turn I heavily weakened their cooldowns. Hitscan is all about having precise aim. Also I can do 40% if your opposed to 50%

How would you balance so other heroes can see play time. I know there was other changes but that damage fall off increase really edged out other heroes from being chosen.

For once there is a breathing room for other heroes.

They’ll all mostly be fine with hitscan cooldowns being significantly weaker and Bap, Brig, Sigma, Orisa and Zen getting changed

Honestly a really solid patch that adresses a lot of issues I currently have with the game

I would like to add though

That this wouldn’t be enough to compensate for the massive loss of Nanoblade as its kind of his only thing right now

I’d add to either decrease his ultimate charge needed for Dragonblade by 15% or slightly increase his shuriken projectile speed so he can poke more reliably for that blade charge

Please buff zarya/rein. These changes dont help rush

If I even think about picking zarya on any map except maybe 3 koth maps i get avoided/reported/called a whole house of slurs. Rein is a pretty similar experience.

i mean you can buff them for sure but if they become hard meta i’m calling it quits on tank once more

i just find rush incredibly boring, I’d like dive to be meta again honestly

Dive is very fun too unfortunately my dva is mediocre at best. The idea of pummeling my enemies to dust is something I miss greatly from a few seasons ago when rush was meta.

the best meta would be that all tank combinations are viable but not a must pick, wish that was possible

but yeah I don’t like rush mostly because of the heroes it enables, back to mei reaper and lucio doesn’t sound fun to me at all

I just had deja vu to where Lucio was meta for 1.75 years in a row

Very nice patch that does address some issues with the game :D. I do not agree with ALL of them but overall nice.

I love losing power out of my most aggressive ability for a passive increase to shield HP.

This removes skill expression from Orisa and makes her more boring when she’s already effective.

The nerfs do not need to be this severe.
Why are you making him not only feed (which is still his biggest weakness)
but also die even easier in his self sustain.

What do you think this changes?
If sig drops his shield then presses shift, it’s 2s til his shield even starts regenning anyway.

Grapple doesnt need to last longer than 6s unless it loses fireball after 6s
the shield nerf is pointless and barely does anything

I hate all of it.

lets cripple focusing beam in one change. It totally needs to do less than Symmetra at full charge or less than a soldier literally just shooting.

unintuitive change to blade as well as it’s already a good ult just not a team wipe every use

I’m stopping reading here because beyond here it’s even worse.

The problem is that these current tanks don’t make overwatch feel like overwatch.
The only exception to this is with d.va. The rest simply make the game just deathmatch and that is now overwatch.

Overwatch is a team game, where you work with your team. Not where the best strategy is hog going in one direction and sigma picking an off angle from another direction along with brig and zen from another direction and tracer doing tracer things.

The Bap changes are enough to change the entire game into the good zone, the Brig changes actually look like they can work since the stacking of her packs and inspire were the problem. Hanzo is finally a sniper again and Genji got dmg boost taken away.

If only the Bap and Brig changes go the entire game would change.
