I hit shots with Cree that feel like I’m watching someone else way better than i play the game. A lot of it feels like I’m not aiming and there’s some Jedi nonsense to it. Practically always gold damage. QP of course but whatever.
I just cannot grasp aiming with hitscan. It’s a simple enough concept, aim where they are, but I spent so much time on Battlefield games that it’s just coded into me to aim where they are going.
I’ll pop a jumping, speed boosted Lucio in the head no problem on Mei but ask me to hit a Roadhog on Widow and odds are good that I’ll struggle even to get bodyshots.
Widow shouldn’t even be in the same boat as hitscan because what’s needed to aim on mccree vs widow is two completely diff things
I too feel like typically I have an easier time aiming with Hanzo. I guess there’s a bit more brain-time leeway you have to calculate where someone should be in a split second than where they are right now, and it’s less stressful IMO since you typically only need to take a deep breath and land that one shot for the kill. Plus once you memorize how far away you need to place the dot from their heads at various ranges depending on which way they are moving on Hanzo it can become a bit too easy. I was on that train for a few days trying to improve my DPS heroes and was sort of learning but switched to Cree.
And I play laying in my bed on a small mousepad with a 60hz monitor. If I had a “Real” setup I wonder how good I could get.
Widow, McCree, S76, Bastion. I’m probably not hitting a moving target.
Now give me Hanzo, Zenyatta, Mei, or Orisa and I can pull it off.
Best way to practice mccree is practice range flicking the moving bots , get the feel of your flicks down to muscle memory, soldier is easier, nonstop shoot with crosshair on target, at longer ranges, burst 4 bullets, stop for even a millisecond and then start again rinse repeat , widow, idk I have to play her more when I get on decent net, Ashe is pretty call of duty
I cannot aim with hanzo but I am a god with phara and genji. Idk why, I can hit crossmap direct rockets but hanzo aim makes no sense to me
I get that improvement when I haven’t played in weeks and I get 3D motion sickness. My aim improves tenfold, not that it’s very good to begin with.
Something about being dizzy and not focusing perhaps.
Oh so that’s why I always find my Account 200 SR + every time I wake up.
when you’re tired you prob relax a lot more. And being relaxed, not panicking or over compensating is a big thing for some people to learn. Being tired tho lowers your reaction time and accuracy. So you must be pretty panicky when not tired or be pretty bad at focusing when not tired. If you can do those things while rested you will do a lot better.
you probably stop thinking about your aim when tired and let your subconscious do the work
and since that’s much faster you perform better
that’s what is usually called muscle memory, you basically practice moves over and over until you can execute them blind/sleeping/without thinking
tension gets the best of you, when tired you probably relax a lot more which is the best state to be in general for decisions and creative solutions.
I’M NOT THE ONLY ONE
This is news to me.
Seriously on a few days without sleep i can play Widow on any map against anything.
And my cree starts looking much better than it should.
Video PROOF:
My reactive aim is something to behold, especially for a console pleb, on days without sleep.
It’s probably because you’re somewhat more relaxed than if you were fully awake and panicky.
