My friend is prohibited from adding me on Battle.net

I have tried to add my friend on battle.net for the past two days but we get the same reply, and its annoying us now, i get the error code 5001 and he gets told he is prohibited from adding me, this must be a bug as we have never had this issue before.

We have not blocked each other and we have both tried to fix our games via the battle.net launcher, neither has worked, we also checked on blizzards website, did all the suggestions and it still hasn’t worked, any help is greatly appreciated.

It’s kinda technically not a bug.

Error 5001 is basically just the message for you having too many pending friend requests. It’s intended, error is barely even correct.

If you are unable to send friend requests and receive Error 5001, you have too many friend requests pending.

Try out the steps in this support article .

Make sure to use the PC Battle.net application. It is not currently possible to use the the mobile app to clear your pending friend requests.
