I don’t know what he means. Maybe it’s because there is a bastion and a torb in every game and widow cannot headshot ohk them. Also, the range nerfs just punish you for landing harder shots 
Idk I think that criticism is valid. Roadhog was way too survivabile to have a 20 meter cc and displacement ability that allows you to one shot combo.
Reinhardt might not need to one shot though either because if you’re pinned you’re in his range and as good as dead depending on the hero. Reinhardt at least has drawbacks like having to worry about where he charges and having an extremely short range. Orisa and Sigma also need their large hitbox cc burst damage cooldowns to be balanced. Especially Orisa’s because it also boops. Orisa and Sigma have extremely bloated kits.
Widow has to hit a small bullet on targets running 80mph with no movement accel while she is stuck with limited movement while scoped and 175hp. You miss a shot and you’re dead.

So widow for the first l time in years has not been meta but just OKAY and for the first time requires a microgram of gamesense to play cuz you need to be somewhat closer to hs and a widow main threw a fit.

That someone who “loves to one shot” has ragequit has me concerned, right around the same level of concern that I have that Jeffry Dahmer didn’t get a custom menu while in prison.

Walking simulator sucks. It’s one reason why the community hates one shots.
That said, I think snipers and one-shots in general would be more welcome if there were simply more players on the field. The fact that widow could make a one-shot kill and delete 20% of the enemy team with just one click of a mouse button is kind of ridiculous. If she’s popping off? Make that 40% of the enemy team dead—stopping their push entirely. Oh?! Now it’s 60% dead! Forget about the tank- with his essential supporting teammates now dead around him, he’s of no concern.
Widow, Hog, Hanzo—the most notorious one-shot heroes of OW1—didn’t feel nearly as oppressive in a 6v6 environment. Hence why they have to be dialed back to play more generically for 5v5. Fun.
Must be why snipers are less of an issue in FPS combat simulators like COD, and are just an annoyance in the sprawling battlefields of huge arena games like Warzone, Battlefield, etc.

Correct, i don’t like snipers in any fps.
And they didn’t revert her health nerf or ammunition nerf to constitute for her new area of play. You are instantly dead if you play within range because anyone can just walk up to you and shoot you for half a second to kill you.
Oh but don’t worry, I’m sure your venom mine will protect you with its maximum of 75 damage over 15 seconds… once its done being on cooldown for another 15 seconds??

Widowmaker is the defacto 1shot hero. 1shot others, get 1 shot back. Do you seriously expect to get any better treatment beyond the biggest glass cannon in the entire game?
I would rather just pick Hanzo so that I can survive her headshot and one shot her instead to be perfectly honest. Work smarter, not harder. That is what my grandpappy always said. Not really. Come to think of it, I have not spoken to my grandfather since I was like 5 or 6.

I really enjoy Hanzo’s design. I feel I rarely get headshot by him and there are generally stats to show it too. In general, ~10% of HS are Hanzo while Widow will have like a 1/4 shot that are headshots at the higher ranks. The Hanzo stuff is including stuff like storm arrow spam as well.
I’d perfectly prefer to see Widowmaker go projectile 1shot as well with a scope. Maybe a faster projectile speed, but with a more balanced kit to go with it. Hitscan 1shot from widow or sojourn is just… ugh.

I did not mean to imply that Hanzo is a better sniper or anything. I just prefer using him in the sniper duel because Widow is more or less forced to stand still which makes it easier to safely spam my arrows in her general direction.
I wish Widowmaker had a bolt action sniper rifle with a long delay between shots, limited ammo pool, and a vision sway (basically like Call of Duty, but you need to land a headshot instead). That would have been a lot more fun to play as and a lot less frustrating to play against.
It is not the end of the world or anything, but as a console peasant, the cards can feel stacked against you if you dare to get consecutive picks which is why I needed to abuse those long lines of sight. I know those GM Widow will 360 dink all three people diving them, but if I piss off a player committed enough to tunnel vision me, it is all over, I need to swap.

That’s pretty toxic and heartless in light of OP’s post. I also hate Widow, but you can hate Widow and not be a prick about it.

As someone planning to play more Widow next season… Even I am glad there is one less Widow. The game feels so much better when you are not being contested, trust.

Listen, I NEVER want to see an enemy Widow on the other team, so I get it. 
And directing one’s frustrations at the character is fine. Screw Widow.
But being rude to an actual person over something that’s obviously troubling them in real life? It’s meanness for the sake of meanness and nothing more. Sparste is already getting one less Widow just as they wanted. They’ve already won and can move on. No need to say anything. But they chose to be a sore winner and kick the loser when they’re down.
What sparste’s words equate to is: “I’m glad you don’t get to play with your friend anymore.”

Widowmaker has no business having 175 HP and should have her 200 HP back, as she can’t heal herself like Tracer, for instance.
The Overwatch community has always been problematic in terms of dictating biased stuff and some of the toxic comments I read on this very topic proves me that people haven’t learned anything from their bad behavior on OW1.
The game is bound to be doomed and it’s not even because of the OW team and Blizzard (at least not solely), yet because of some of the very vocal members of this community.
It’s very appalling that good aim is heavily criticized in an FPS games. I guess that’s one of the many reasons the OW community is mocked and why the game’s reputation is in a bad place.
Go figure…
