My experience from Silver rank on Alt account (info, tips, stats)

One of the downsides to Ball in Silver/Gold is that your team isn’t good enough to follow up on your knock up(I’m not either when I’m playing with a Ball). A good team will snipe people up in the air when Ball slams.

I focus instead more on disrupting the enemy as much as possible rather than trying to coordinate with my team. I’ll wait for the engagement to start and try to knock people away from shields, off high ground, into my team’s DPS if we have a reaper or mei. Plus harassing healers. If no one peels for them I can either kill them or at least make it much harder for them to heal. I can usually protect my team just by virtue of keeping a couple people trying to kill me and ignoring my team.

A big thing I learned as ball that makes the whole game go better is to not expect my Supports to go out of the way at all for healing. I take all the responsibility for making myself easy to heal. I’ll either get health packs or swing back and land next to one of my Supports for healing.

And as a “thank you” and an appreciation you wreck them.

I’m sure I won’t. Bad thing is a bad thing. It’s simple. Besides, you’re making a challenge. That tells it all.

Yeah 6 people is my team and 6 people is enemy enemy, someone has to lose. I added few friendly people on the way up, we had fun games, even when we lost, thats the kind of experience I welcome.

You know what? Its a bad thing even when I didn break any rules, will you let it go finaly? I promise you that I will never be playing in bronze or silver again, happy now? I am out of these ranks anyway as I made it to gold already.

again. It’s all about “I”. Who cares about the others. I, me, myself.

Well, we won’t meet, since I’m on console. Lucky me, I guess  (I’m one of people who doesn’t want a smurf on my team)

As you wish.
I only wanted to show you the other perspective since you were so happy with your deeds. Wether you got it or not - I already said everything I wanted and won’t annoy you anymore.

I get it and I truly do understand your point of view. I do understand why people dont like people who are not playing in their elo. I do know its not fun for people who are trying to slowly improve to face smurfs. Its not like you annoy me, I honestly appreciate any kind of feedback. I just wanted to move on from discussion if its bad or not bad.

I think that if one plays any character well, as Love and others have shown, a player will climb the ladder.

About your question with Hammond, i created a thread about Hammond after 16 almost consecutive Wins in 3 hours of play albeit in QP and noticed an interesting trend, made a thread asking for opinions. Maybe it might help:

That said, Ball’s win rate for the past month from Platinum to GM is above 50% although from Bronze to Gold, it is just slightly under.

Yes, no doubt there, Love.
It is simply in line with the fact that most Bronzers go with at least one Barrier Tank and could be a more accurate depiction of Tanking life in Bronze/Silver. =)

I actualy had to convince a lot of people to pick main tank, it was one of the issues in bronze and silver, people didnt pick right tank setup. I am not saying games were not winnable with tanks we had but its usualy more safe to have main tank.

I am a little interested as to your opinion on this when your team actually has control of the point but the enemies arrive on it. For example, a Lúcio contesting it while your team percentage is actually increasing? I was told that it is better to keep the point as long as possible if you are currently in control of it? Or should the Lúcio just give it to them?

Stopped reading here.

Worst thing Blizzard did with Overwatch was allow players to have multiple accounts.

It’s completely ruined what could’ve been a fantastic game.

You did.

Smurfing is cheating per Blizzard’s own definition of same, specifically “unfair advantage”.

I agree they should never allow it, but it wasnt my decision, i only do what is allowed. Game is still fantastic but could be much better. And i didnt break any rule actualy but you will say different so whatever you like.

It really depends on situation. You have to use brain and adapt. If you are in low bronze and you can contest point solo for a long time feel free to do it. You did it and was killed in few secgond? Probably not good idea to try it again. Its like that with almost everything you will do.

I will give you one example what i saw. Havana, we just pushed second poind and took it, when suddendly enemy lucio started contesting point. 3 his team mates were dead. Yet he tried to contest payload. He could escort two others back and regroup, he decided to contest point for a while, died and his team was again not in full numbers because others didnt wait for him either. Maybe try to give me some examples and i can tell you if its wrong or good.

No it does not. Smurfs are getting high SRs because they go above avrages. If they would get “normal” SR then it would be a problem, because then people who currently get “normal” SR would get way lower. But that is not the case. Also in order for that to happen there would need to be at least twice or more smurfs than forums claims, and there is only a small fraction of what forums claims. Also in order to to stay there and not instantly climb out they need to throw games, they will have to have bad stats in order to throw, you cant throw a game if you keep wiping the enemy team and having good stats. So no, smurfs are not affecting PBSR in any meaningful way.

when is the Gold to Plat post coming

Not so soon, I was busy doing other things, so far I played only on tank and its at 2339

Its actualy a lot of time to climb on all 3 roles.

I am sick and tired of smurfs doing their “research”.
Last game chat transcription (I spotted the smurf by his name immediately btw):

Me: What do you learn playing in bronze as GM?

Smurf: games 3 years+ old now

Me: yes, so something is missing in your life or not?

Smurf: and I peaked at gm
Smurf: what do I need to learn?

Me: I don’t think you are in GM tbh *(I was just surprised because why the hell would a gm play in bronze it should be boring for him)

Smurf: that doesn’t bother me in the least

Me: people there don’t have any motivation to play in bronze

What about you stop doing your “research” and leave low ranked games to noobs?

What about helping them in another way and not ruining their games?

You know people coming home from 10h work would like to have a fair match to play because they can squeeze one or two games per day and then you and your smurfing friends are starting to do their “research”.

You are doing humanity a favor dude. Bravo! I can now gather your data leave my job and start only playing ow.

I come home from 10h work home too…

I am not doing “research”, its just a bonus I decided to share.

Everyone has his way how to enjoy the game, this is my way.

Do you know why so many others ar doing bronze to gm runs? Because there is so many people who are constantly crying how its impossible to climb or how is comp system rigged. A lot of people smurfing/doing bronze to gm runs want to prove them wrong. Its just one of many reasons why people do this, there are others of course. From my knowledge only very tiny group of people is actualy smurfing for lols, to troll low ranked people and make fun of them. Others using alt accounts have other reasons/goals.

Lmao that’s all you took from this

honestly, i find this super useful and interesting. the thing most curious to me is the number of games it takes to get from one rank to the other. Say for example someone placed in silver but is actually a mid-plat. it will probably take them a lot of games to get close to Plat, since they’re really not that much better than their competition.

the fact is these streamers and top-500 players are exponentially better than everyone, even Masters level players, which is why they can climb so fast. realistically i think you gotta just grind and have a huge sample size of games played… like in the hundreds honestly.
