My "Dream Patch Notes"

I’ve seen a few of these, I use a top down view on balance, and have a little bit of experience, across all games I’ve played I have friendly arguments over balance, including this game. Ideas that I come up with, with the data presented to me.

Brigitte:

  • Shield bash no longer stuns. Instead, it will be given more knock back.

It’s no secret the community hates stuns on low cooldowns, so let’s remove the stun all together, without taking Lucios role. We will also ignore the ptr nerf to her cooldown, but keep the armor change, this should be enough.

Genji:

  • Reduced deflect cooldown by 1 second.

Quite a small change, but it’s recent nerf along with the CC meta has made him near useless. Just a simple change that probably won’t make a difference to win rates, but it’ll feel better to play.

Hanzo:

  • Reduced Storm Arrow damage from 80 --> 75.

While still being able to one shot Tracer, I feel as if it does too much damage, you never saw 3k scatters, but 3k Storms all the time, even as a Hanzo main of 4 seasons I can see this.

Ana:

  • Allow her to nano boost herself in all modes.

Outside the Memes, this would be great for stalling in those times when you absolutely have to, but have no nano target, or to save yourself from a dive.

  • Convert 50 of Ana’s health, to shields.

This allows Ana to have more after fight sustain, as her nade only heals her for 100 so under 100 hp she needs to grab a kit, or another support has to heal her, this would be another way to keep her in fights longer, too.

D.Va:

  • Increase the time it takes for defense matrix to recharge by 20%.

Dva is a very, very strong hero. She pretty much made dive viable by herself, and has nearly 100% playtime in the OWL, while her bully potential is great, she needs a defensive nerf to balance out her offensive capability.

McCree:

  • Increase his initial falloff range by 10 meters, and all other ranges respectively.

This allows McCree to be slightly more viable at range, since his falloff is so severe, I believe this is all he needs, as he’s shut out by dive and the CC meta, but has strong dps.

This is the list of changes I’m set on, but heroes that need changes I haven’t decided on are Doomfist, and Sombra. They’re both tough to balance, but I know DF needs some survivability buffs, and they’re being changed soon anyways. I’d like to hear what people think of these, I made one way back and some of those changes eventually went live, like soldiers old dmg nerf.

I like most of these except for this. I think we should wait to see how the next meta plays out before we nerf D.Va again.

This also isn’t good. I’m assuming you weren’t around for McSniper. He used to be like this, and was one of the most broken heroes in the game.

The only problem I have with this is that nano boost’s target locking is already so buggy, she’d end up nanoing herself while she’s trying to boost a dragonblading Genji.

I was, don’t worry.

That’s when he had NO falloff. This is 1/3rd of roadhogs hook range, and he has severe falloff. We’re keeping the damage the same but extending his range a bit. Id be okay with lowering it to 7 meters, and maybe 5 with a grain of salt. But McCree has been out of the meta for so long I put this drastic change instead.

I forgot there were multiple McSnipers lol. I’m talking about the S1 one, where that was his falloff rate. It wasn’t quite as bad as the first one but it was still broken.

Those Brigette and D.va changes would just kill them.

If you also remember, they nerfed his right click too, which was why he was OP.

The meta has changed, more shields, more heals, etc. So things like this can be reverted.

It would be a combo of 2 keys.

Man, one key was buggy enough. Now you want to add a second key? She’ll probably nano the enemy Reinhardt at this rate.

I don’t see the problem. One second of holding 2 keys down isn’t very much to ask for, hell maybe even take that off of Q.

No it wouldn’t, flash in on a much longer cooldown, and he’s a dps without a shield.

Nah, dva needs her survivability tuned, she has a near 100% pickrate. Brig is on her way, and needs immediate tuning in the stun department.

Even though he guarantees a kill or at least a large amount of damage dished out

Ana would be better off self healing off of healing her team. It gives her a distinct role in keeping brawly tanks alive for long periods of time.

Except Brigette would be countered by Dive with these changes. The meta would go back to Dive. D.va already had her damage nerfed, she doesn’t need this DM nerf.

A return to McSniper, would mandate a shield meta. It would not help break one.

I’m with Sputnik here, we dont need to go this route with McCree.

I disagree with most of the list, but McSniper was second only to the Stun/Fan McJesus :stuck_out_tongue:

it may really keep her alive but would be one hell of a waste. :thinking: unless its like OT wont it be just better to die?

No, because having your main healer alive is much more important than losing the fight, all because she didn’t ult to save herself.

Okay come on that’s a little over dramatic, lol, 10 meters isn’t that far. Especially with his immense dmg falloff.
