My cursor is teleporting every 5~ seconds all the time

It’s something related to my account I think, it’s not my pc, happens in other pcs as well. My mouse is not the issue, Overwatch is the only game that has this issue.

What brand of mouse?

I can guarantee you it’s not my mouse, i have the G403 from logitech, but still, it’s not the mouse problem, as I said before I have tried it in different pcs with different mice, and the problem is still there since last year, and I simply can’t play, today I installed it again because I had no clue of why I stopped playing Overwatch but then I remember the problem I have with it

When was the last time you calibrated your mouse for the surface you use it on? Also this is going to sound stupid and you probably already did this, but did you check to make sure all drivers are up to date?

The last time was like 4 months ago when I got this mouse and haven’t changed my surface.
Yes my drivers are up to date.
As I said before, there’s no hardware issue here, for example if I disconnect my mouse from my computer it’d still happen, it’s something wrong with my account. In the same copy of the game if a friend logs in here, he wouldn’t have the problem, I tried resetting to default all my settings ingame and that didn’t work

It seems more likely to be third-party software doing weird stuff with your input, then. Game settings don’t affect jumping movements. If it only affects certain software, then it isn’t hardware related either (though it’s a good idea to check your mouse sensor for any debris like hair or salt or w/e might get in there).

Sometimes software intended to enhance gaming can interfere with all sorts of strange and seemingly inrelated things, even software packaged with graphics cards.
Mouse settings may also be relevant; I had problems with my camera sensitivity randomly becoming extremely high in ESO, a problem that later affected WoW as well. Turned out to be a side-effect of a high mouse polling rate. If you mouse is advanced enough to have its own settings and configurations, they may not be converting well to Overwatch.

Something especially curious to note is that the pattern is the same… always to the top-left, at a low angle. Games like Overwatch that use the mouse for aiming technically hide the cursor and repeatedly ‘reset’ its position to the centre. Could another window or application maybe be trying to move the cursor to the top-left and impacting your game?

It is not your account, your PC is receiving that input from something or you are having an issue with your internet and dropping packets. Mouse training software, a mouse macro app, a fault with your PC causing electrical interference, a fault with the mouse, a bad overclock on your CPU… have you played on a friends PC or another PC at all.

Your router could be failing, or your firewall software is making errors, so what happens is the server is recieving your input data out of sync and you are “rubber-banding” your “facing”.

The only time I have experienced this is playing on a 3G dongle.

Are you on a cable connection, have your tried someone elses internet and PC with your account and have you tried booting into safemode and playing then?

Odd issue for sure.

I didn’t think it could be a packet dropping problem since a few weeks ago I have been migrated to fiber optics, and the change before and after was null.
It ended up being a software problem to my surprise as Snackrat said, it was due to a bug on the polling rate, what I did was lower it to 500hz and then raise it again to 1000hz and now it’s working fine.

I don’t mean to resurrect old posts but I found something related in case anyone else has this problem in the future.
I was having the same exact issue, and the cause for me was a graphics tablet driver. Disabling it while I play fixed the issue.

Hey Mythical,

The best thing to start with is a Selective Startup so you can try testing the game with no other programs running.

In the future, we ask that you please create a new thread when you are having issues. Since this is an old thread that was resolved back in August, I will be locking the thread. Make a new thread if you still need help.
