My changes to lower smurf accounts and lower the powercreep in the game

Competitive Play

  • Must be level 50 or higher
  • Must have a phone number (this is only for comp)
  • Competitive SR for new accounts that have other accounts stored in its IP address and hardware_ID will start at that account’s SR

BALANCE CHANGES
My changes will be based on overbuff statistics, toning down overall power creep, and reducing doublebarrier. For Sigma and Orisa specifically, I will drastically nerf their utility as none of them will get reworks until OW2 comes out (specifically stated by OW developers). I will also make sure Orisa is more independent from Sigma.

Orisa

General

  • Armor health reduced from 250 to 200

Fortify

  • Damage reduction reduced from 40% to 30%

Protective Barrier

  • Health increased from 600 to 900

Sigma

Hyperspheres

  • Maximum range reduced from 22 meters to 16
  • Damage falloff starts at 10 meters

Kinetic Grasp

  • Damage-to-shield gain ratio reduced from 60% to 40%
  • Cooldown increased from 12 seconds to 13

Reinhardt

Rocket Hammer

  • Damage reduced from 85 to 75

Ashe

Dynamite

  • Radius reduced from 5 meters to 4

Coach Gun

  • Cooldown increased from 10 seconds to 12

McCree

Fan the Hammer

  • Damage reduced from 50 to 45

Tracer

Pulse Pistols

  • Damage falloff starts at 10 meters

Widowmaker

Grappling Hook

  • Activation speed reduced by 30%

Baptiste

Biotic Launcher

  • Healing reduced from 60 to 55

Immortality Field

  • Lingering effect removed

  • Base health increased from 150 to 200

Inspire

  • Healing increased from 90 to 100

Repair Pack

  • Maximum range reduced from 30 meters to 20
  • Healing reduced from 110 to 60

Shield Bash

  • Distance increased by 20%

I made Orisa stronger independently while nerfing Sigma. I also reverted the Rein damage buff. Most hitscans were nerfed. Tracer’s damage falloff was nerfed. Baptiste was nerfed which also helps on weakening doublebarrier. Finally, Brig was changed to be more of a hybrid between her 1.0 form and current form, which I think will be the healthiest version of her.

The issue with this is that I’m pretty sure google if numbers don’t work with blizzard SMS protect.

How about NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Plenty of people have no means of Phone authentication. So why should they be ineligible to play comp for it.

what are the chances that someone has internet, a computer or console that runs overwatch and not a cell phone?

Honestly I’m 10000% onboard with lowering damage and healing levels. It’ll bring old tanks back into meta.

This would still lead to some horribly imbalanced games brought about by people sharing the same console/PC or household. This would certainly be a great way to discourage people from getting their family & friends into the game.

I for one, but there are plenty of others, because many of us have raised this exact reason why Phone Authentication to play /play comp is not a good Idea. Many people have suggested it. and many people have given this response. I for one have NO USE for a Smart phone, and if don’t need something, I don’t waste money on it. Blizzard has done away with Physical Authenticators So how would I, and many others, get to play Comp.
