My aim is getting worse and I don't know what to do anymore

Hi there, the title says it all and I don’t know what to do anymore. I’ve played this game after launch quite a lot and then pretty much quit until I got back into it a couple weeks ago and I’ve been playing quite regularly since. I am a high-plat DD main and most of all I enjoy Pharah, hitscan heroes and an occasional Hanzo. The problem is that I used to be quite decent at aiming. It was fine when I got back into the game, as I said a couple weeks ago, but since then it’s been gradually getting worse. Each day I launch the game I can tell I’m doing worse than the day before. Not only do I struggle hitting headshots as Cree, Widow or Soldier 76, but it’s come to a point where I sometimes struggle with landing shots at all. I’ve never had this issue before, getting picks as Widow used to be a piece of cake for me, as was hitting consecutive headshots as Cree and so on… I don’t understand why It’s going downhill so quickly and I have no idea how to make it stop and get where I was. You would probably guess my rank to be bronze at best if you saw how bad it is…

Anyone else ever had this issue or might know what’s going on?

Have you been warming up in the Aim Arenas? You might just be cold.

Personally that happens to me if I’m really tilted. Then I just take a break for a while.

  1. Check your eyes I need near sided glasses +1
  2. Check your aim options since they made this LEGACY whatever option my aim is horrible as well
  3. Check your mouse maybe is giving up on u

Legacy option? When was that added??

Head into custom games with bots on 150% movement speed and all damage abilities disabled, then spend a bunch of time trying to hit them. You’ll get your aim back and things will feel smooth again.

What did you expect? you had few years break, you will get into it eventualy

stop thinking about aim, seems to me that you’re choking as soon as you miss some shots

you pressure yourself so much you perform worse.

relax, work on your positioning and you’ll notice aim isn’t everything, and a good position can make up for a bit worse aim easily
