Move Hog to DPS or.

make him an actual tank. Right now he’s just a chunky dps who doesn’t help his team, I’m sick of instalock hogs in my games.

He’s a tank, just not a good one. He protects his team by being a body shield.

OK I can’t say that with a straight face.

How though, he does not help his team AT ALL

He gets shot at, that is pretty much how he helps his team. Not saying it is actually good though.

He also has CC but that is pretty meh.

Maybe they could change it so Tanks only give ultimate charge when you kill them?

They tried to make him tank. His lemonade inhaler spilled leaving healing smoke in area. Ability i wouldnt mind him having right now…

He’s a great tank, when you know Hog has his hook ready. Do you dare push foward or even step out of position? No his presents makes more space than any of the tanks.

Maybe lower ranks dont see him as much of a threat because they find it hard to land hook? But in masters, they all know the one shot combo on 250hp heros. They sure punish you for playing badly.

give him the changes from the experimental card from earlier in the year, then he can actually help his team

dont care if it means he does less damage i just want him to be somewhat helpful and not garbage

its honestly not hard to hit hooks but it is very hard to not get your hook countered when 90% of abilities in the game counters hook :stuck_out_tongue:

look at overwatch league, the most talented players on the planet cant make him work because of how garbage he is

or its because theyre facing the other best people who know how to actually use stuns and cc abilities…

people in silver know how to use stuns and cc abilities and bubbles, so pretty much every rank know how to counter hook :stuck_out_tongue: its not difficult to counter

to counter in the aspect of keeping him from killing whoever he grabbed cause stunning or blocking hook before he has someone is a different story… especially at the rank your talking. and by then he already has someone from your team right in front of him regardless if he killed them or not he will once the cc or bubble is gone. and as for the ul charge thing he akes reduced damage BY 50 PERCENT when aking a breather to prevent being an ul battery all the time

His help lies in his hook and ultimate.

He’s not a traditional tank with a shield - and I think that’s healthy for the game. We need the game to be generally less shield reliant and have tanks be flexible and unique so that it attracts more players.

Also his self sustain means that supports don’t have to worry as much about him.

I’d always rather have a Roadhog than something like a Ball.

idk where this negative stigma comes around certain characters. Any characters usefulness is based off of multiple things the very last of which is their kit. Just because dvas fundamenally better with winston doesnt mean the game would go well if i play dva when i have damn near 50 hours on ball. the point is this community has a thing for making a player feel like they have to play someone cause theyre meta but thats just toxic and backwards. a characters usefulness is all about how good the player is with them and if theyre getting countered thats it

Just because something is not played all the time in the OWL does not mean they are garbage.

There was a buff to Genji and suddenly Dva, Winston and Mercy are getting played. Despite them getting no play time for ages and no changes. A meta means the best of the very best, it does not mean the only viable strategy.

In fact Hog was meta in his current state with Orisa not that long ago.

Most players below masters miss at least 60% of hooks. Hooks that if landed are game changing.

Hog is a unique case really. The problem is less Hog, than the mindset of people who usually play him. They forget he’s an off-tank; he is still expected to act like a tank in support of the main tank. He should be peeling for the main tank, and most importantly, maintaining position to hold the space the main tank created. Instead, most go off on wild flanking adventures. I even had one guy that was like level 5, was obviously at least Masters level show up in a game, and trolled our spawn constantly. He could only get away with this because our team was not on comms and kept stringing out. But in the long run, those tactics don’t work, but most Hogs think that’s flanking is the way to go, when it’s really not the correct play.

Imagine introducing his 1-3-2 cloud
