Blizz, you didn’t need map voting to know that most players don’t want these modes as part of their core gameplay experience. It’s well known for years that players who avoid Flashpoint or Push maps have no issue with the maps themselves, just the modes. Well, the Arcade is where we go for different kinds of matches, so these modes really belong there.
Also, look at how map bans actually give players less map diversity. When there’s multiple map options that are not Push or Flashpoint, we get the same maps every time! King’s Row… Rialto… now it seems hardly anyone votes for Control anymore!
Lastly, what about the players that actually do enjoy Push and Flashpoint? They may never see these modes ever again. That’s not fair to them.
Blizz, just move Push, Flashpoint and Clash into Arcade, then let QP queue us into a specific mode, and then let us vote on the 3 random maps for that one mode.
Thank you.

I really, really hope this happens.
That would be the most logical solution…
Expect it to be considered in 5 years time after a dozen different attempts to “fix” the maps , (not modes) and or forcing them down our throats because “We do love them, but just don’t know it”
They are not going to remove the maps just cuz some people dislike them. Especially 3 modes. I could see it happening to clash, if they don’t fix it since it’s already removed from comp. But I have had a good mix of maps and modes, probably because I actually like everything other than clash.
But for those who like hybrid and escort the most, they should be happy. If majority like those the most, they will be playing more often than before.

I genuinely despise Clash but Flashpoint & Push are fine. I actually like Push!

Yes, but no. They have wasted so much time on these new modes that we do not really have any other hybrid or payload maps to look forward to. Shambali was like the only one as far as I recall. They have been busy trying to shove a triangle into the circle hole for years. Over and over and over and over again. Seriously, think about what actually changed for our core gameplay experience and you will be surprised because their focus has been on gimmicks since the launch of the sequel. Not even joking. Most of them failed, obviously. And some have still yet to fail cough Stadium cough.
It’s wild. Yes, I am sure people love lots of things, but it’s time to acknowledge that perhaps they should just focus on improving what the majority of people played this freaking game for to begin with. That might help more with retention at this point.
These new modes could be event modes with way less effort. They do not need to be “permanent” content that gets phased out after a couple of months.

Here’s a hot take: I think players don’t actually want to learn how to play new modes and just instantly complain about them. Which they then decide then and there that they will forever hate the mode simply because they don’t like the mechanics behind them.
Flash/Push/Clash are more complex than the original core mode will ever be. I’ve never seen such braindead modes that baby players through the game with simplicity such as I’ve seen with KOTH, Hybrid, and payload. It gets to a point where these OG modes are just too bland. They are simple and you don’t have to think in order to progress the objectives, that’s why they are enjoyed unlike the newer modes (aside from Clash I’d say) which require you to actually take full advantage of the maps because they have various places for team fights to take place with their consistent moving objectives, unlike the OG core modes which lead you to predetermined chokes for fights to take place.
OG modes= Simple and lead you to the same fighting chokes
New modes= Harder but require you to take full advantage of the map and have various areas where fights take place due to the objectives moving constantly
I get the hatred of not wanting to walk to objectives, but that’s just not an issue to me given that KOTH maps literally waste your time with starting entire new matches and waiting in spawn each new game. New modes have the trade off of starting the new objectives instantly and not having a new game start at the cost of having to walk for like 15 seconds to a new point. I don’t find that to be an issue really.
I mean, clash is just bad due to the scoring and how miserable attacking the last point is. It is actually flawed and not competitive unlike the others people complain about. The catch up mechanic in clash is stupid.
Yes I agree to this. The mode can work but it was just poorly done.
I hope they can fix it at some point; I am fine with the gameplay of the middle 3 points. Just need to find a solution to the last points.
Because that mode is far worse than those combined. What part of players not wanting to play multiple rounds do you not understand? Maybe if they counted each round as a win or loss instead of losing two times for one thing for challenges their time playing such garbage wouldn’t feel so wasted.
Or better idea. REMOVE THE ROUNDS FOR NON COMP MODES
flashpoint and push are very competitive modes. Clash has no place in overwatch , its beyond broken. Put it in practice range.
Yeah the last point is bad simply because it disincentivizes the advantaged team to use ults and commit to the last push as it’s a snowball prevention.
So you win C and then D but let them win E so that you can hold D and just win it again and sort of do that until you win.
They sort of just took everything that was bad with 2CP and made a new mode with it. Idk how they could change it.

Hello
Is it me you’re looking for?
The one guy picking the newer maps simply because they aren’t OW1 maps?
Yeah, I don’t want to play that old map for the millionth time.
If it wins, fine. It’s popular enough.
But no. We will not be ignoring new maps because you don’t like change.

Clash (with how it was designed) was utter garbage.
Defenders got a free score for capturing their own point which they spawn 5 feet away from. It was straight up a better plan for attackers to not even leave the 2nd point and just let the defenders cap their spawn point because there was no use. It was hyper defender sided and nearly impossible to cap. So instead of getting wiped at the spawn point and having them reach 2nd point first. Just cap 2nd point, stay put and have the defenders advantage on your side.
That mode was god awful.
Push is also just bad. Whoever wins first fight usually wins the game because there is close to no comeback potential when you have to win like triple the team fights just to even reach the distance they did. You have to win the fight to take the bot from them, win the fight from them getting close spawn, and then win another fight to finally reach the distance they reached.
The first spawn being hilariously far from the close spawn point so if the bot isn’t quite there to the checkpoint, you have to spend half a day getting back to the fight if it isn’t over by then.
It’s horrific.
Flashpoint maps are just trash.
Very little to do with not liking change and more to do with them just being poorly designed.

One idea I saw from someone on the forums is making it a circular thing instead of a straight line. So each point can have equal soawn distance, and just go clockwise or counterclockwise. Tho it might feel weird if most of the map is on a slight curve. I guess they could also add a couple more points and move spawns further back. So they are always fairly even to both team, and if they can cap 4 in a row, they likely would have won anyways.
Do people still hate on Push and FP?
Didn’t they had enough time to learn them?
