Mouse Weight Preferences?

I just went from a G502 Lighstpeed to a GPro Lightspeed (Lightspeed = wireless without latency). That’s 114g to 80g. My original mouse when I came to PC was 180g and I’ve been decreasing since then.
This mouse feels so much lighter and easier to move than any I’ve had and I really enjoy it. I feel like I can have a lower EDPI (3200) and still effortlessly move around. I also feel more directly in control of my movement.

Blinking with Tracer feels incredible. I can do 180 blinks in what feels like less than a frame on my EDPI.

I personally feel the lighter the mouse the better.

I’m just curious who prefers heavier or lighter mice and why? How much do your mice weigh?

FYI: I use arm to aim/move but wrist for slight adjustments.
I also have an incredibly large mousepad (size of my desk (very big desk))

For FPS light mice are good. Keep it under 90g. Avoid heavy mice especially for games like OW or you might strain/injure your wrist.

Super light.

Also, weight won’t matter much to me because I don’t use my wrist almost 95% of the time.

But this mouse is heavier than my first one

Hyper light one
680 dpi

I have the G502, the G903 and the G403. All in all I prefer the lightest one, the but it was pinching the edge of my thumb so much I had to go back to the G502 but I pulled all the weights out.

I also run 3200 EDPI for aim-based characters, but run higher (5760) EDPI for close in characters like Sym, Brig, Doom, Rein, etc. for turning.

I use the G502 Proteus, and with all the weights I think it is 140g. I like running it heavy at max DPI, takes time to get used to but making fine precision movements is much better IMO. I also play at 4k so higher DPI isn’t as extreme

I use a G502 Proteus Spectrum with all the weights removed (121g) at 3200 EDPI. I’d go even lower DPI, but I think my mouse pad is only just big enough to accommodate that DPI. Very comfortable to use though. I’ve never felt any stress/strain and can aim smoothly. I wouldn’t mind going even lighter in the future though.

Heavy enough that I’d have to actively try to lift it, but light enough that it’s not an effort at all.

The ligher the better, no matter what game.
Though, for some games more buttons might be usefull.

My personal favorit is the G-Wolfs Skoll. Basically a Zowie EC1 or Ec2 shape but 66g.

I looked at this one, but it’s wired :frowning:
Can’t have no wired drag.

It is wired basically as good as a paracord cable. That means, you do NOT feel any drag.

Of course you should either use a bungee or put a stone on the cable at some point so that not the whole length of the cable is moving.

But anyhow, that cable really is not feelable during movements.
And i am telling you this as i sued many paracord cables and wireless mices.

I personally can’t say I prefer one weight over the other. I believe the shape is more of a priority to me as I’ll always adjust to any weight within 48 hours. I’ve used a G903 (110g) with and without the 10g weight, and recently I’ve been playing with a Model O with all of the cringe reddit mods done to it (61g). As far as shape goes my favorite mouse so far has got to be the Roccat Kone EMP.

Lighter hardware could help those with strain issues so I guess that’s the better end of the deal now that I think about it, but hey, in the end it’s all personal preference.

1768 eDpi arm aim

You and I have the exact same hybrid aim style, and mouse preference.

Light weight, high glide mouse surface.

You really want that mouse to really feel light, get a Razer Sphex V2 mouse pad.

Actually at the same time I was purchasing this new mouse, I went back to my post about mouse pads you commented on specifically to find what the mousepad you recommended was called. I was considering buying both a new mouse and mousepad but figured I’d go with just the mouse for now. I’m either considering this one, or the Razor Manticor that someone else suggested.

I’m also considering getting hyperglides for this mouse.

I do not recommend the Manticore

I have it, I’ve used it.

It’s a bad mouse pad. It’s like rubbing two magnets together (attraction property)

It actually makes the mouse feel way to heavy.

It’s an aluminum surface.

I use the manticore now as a surface to place my Razor Sphex V2 on.

Hmmm. I’m just hesitant on the Sphex v2 bc it seems a bit small compared to the amount of space I think I use.

Manticore is the same size as the Sphex.

The sphex fits perfectly on top of it.

Gimme a min I think I may still have a picture of mine

Ahh in that case, perhaps pictures on Amazon are just misleading.

Razor Sphex: Approximate size : 355 mm / 14 in (Length) x 254 mm / 10 in (Width) x 0.5 mm / 0.02 in (Height)

Manticore: 15.4 x 11.6 inches

Manticor image with mouse on it

I do not have my mouse picture so best I could do to give you a mouse size comparison

Some of those pictures on Amazon, are the case the manticor comes in. Also believe the dimensions of the manticor on Amazon are for the case and not the pad.

It says the pad is 1.2 inches thick… lol it’s not.

Yeah I might try it out, but atm, I like that my setup keeps me from running out of mouse space when tracking.

I have noticed that having so much space has messed up my arm positioning lately though so I might go smaller.

It’s all experimenting for now.
