Mouse cursor keeps showing up in game

No idea what causes this. I have all updated drivers. RX 580 GPU, Ryzen 5 1600 six core 3200 Mhz processor. MSI keyboard, Asus Gladius mouse, With an MSI Optix MAG 27C monitor.

Someone help me figure this out it’s driving me insane!

I’d recommend posting this in the Technical Support section of the forums instead of here.

For your issue, I would recommend looking into your settings to see how your window is being displayed. Is it in borderless mode? Full screen? Just make sure that it’s in Exclusive Fullscreen mode. Also, I’ve personally found that if the cursor is ever on screen, clicking the window in which the Overwatch program is running will usually hide the mouse cursor.

I’ve tried everything man. Literally nothing I do seems to fix this issue. If I was running anything cheap or low end hardware I could see it being hardware related but that’s not the case either. I’m totally stumped and can’t figure this one out.

Have you looked at this forum post?:

I’ve seen some suggestions such as enabling and disabling options in Mouse Properties in Control Panel, manually setting a display to Windowed clicking Apply Settings and then switching it back to Fullscreen and hitting Apply Settings again, closing Discord or Steam (I’d recommend going to Task Manager and using End Process to close them, as sometimes closing through the app will only move it to the background while it still runs), etc.

Let me know if you’ve seen this thread before or have tried everything that was suggested.

Yeah, nothing in there seems to help either. It seems to happen when I quickly do a 180 or flick really fast. I don’t know, this is extremely annoying though lol

Especially since I lose the ability to move the mouse while it’s bugging out and throwing the cursor back on the screen. Once it’s there it still freezes occasionally doing the same action that initially brought it up in the first place, 180 turns or flicking.

happened to me in the past but restarting my pc worked for me. try uninstalling mouse drivers and overwatch and the reinstalling i would assume the issue is in one of those places. if not your windows is messing up fullscreen settings some how.

I doubt it’s an issue with any other software in particular; it’s just a bug in Overwatch. Unless your issue differs from the one I’ve encountered, the cursor that appears is Overwatch’s menu cursor, anyway, not the Windows cursor.

It seems to be a pretty common issue, although it’s only happened to me once personally. I asked in team chat if anyone knew how to fix it, and 3 teammates all told me closing/reopening the game client is the only way, so apparently most of my team had seen the issue before.

I don’t know what causes it in the first place, unfortunately. Since you mentioned it happening when you do a very quick turn, it could be the result of your cursor escaping the bounds of the game window in one frame, before it snaps back to the center. Do you play in full screen?

Do you use any type of gaming Overlay? If so disable them.
