Mouse cursor above crosshair

I have no idea why this is happening. I’ve left multiple games because of this because i can’t play with the mouse cursor constantly moving above my crosshair at all times, and now i’ve got a stupid -75% XP penalty for 8 more matches. I do use the steam overlay by launching overwatch trough the blizzard launcher to be able to talk to friends if i get a message (this has always worked and i’ve never had this cursor issue before), and now as soon as the cursor appears, i can not get rid of it.

Please, if anyone has a solution other than closing steam, help would be appreciated.

My issue was with Discord overlay. When discord is active when I launch the game this issue occurs regularly. If you don’t have discord active, I can’t help any further than that.

Anyhow, I have figured out a workaround.

While in game, hit ESC until you see the menu (social/settings/exit/etc) then unplug your USB mouse for 1 second, and then plug it back in, then hit ESC again.
