It seems as though the dev team working on Fortnite will now be separating mouse and keyboard PS4 users to play with PC players now instead of versus PS4 players. Now it’s proven that the detection exists. Can we finally add it to Overwatch so that us console users can finally play on fair ground? Either separate them with the PC users as well or just block it from being used in PvP matches please.
Please coordinate with them or atleast let us know your working on your own detection technology Jeff and co.
Mouse and keyboard has been available for PS4 since before the FFXIV mmo released on it. There’s just barely any games that support it for obvious reasons.
Also, console players do not play VS PC players. The only M&K users on OW console are XIM4 users. Which a keyboard input detection sysytem wouldn’t detect as it emulates M&K. (It appears as a controller to the PS4/Xbox) Which is how it bypasses M&K restrictions.
I don’t understand you’re comment. I know that console users dont play against PC users. I’m suggesting that mouse and keyboard users are forced to play with PC users like what is now happening with Fortnite, due to them developing a method to detect and remove mouse and keyboard users from the console servers.
Man… fornite is epic games.
I play a lot more overwatch than fornite, because i dont like a lot the battle royale. But the fornite dev team is a lot better than overwatch dev team.
Im still waiting for the separate hero balance that they said with the overwatch console version.
I know it’s a different company but it’s not unusual for companies to share technical knowledge. Many connections are made between devs.
But I agree, Fortnite devs are great.
Its inusual when the dev team dont care about the players. They will do anything.
M&K is not useable on console OW, so this solution is null.
What I’m saying is that the only way you can use M&K on console OW is using an emulator. So it can’t be detected by PS4.
No it isn’t. Input conversion devices versus raw input devices are two different things. One uses an adapter, the other uses an actual M+KB
Fortnite supports M+KB natively on PS4.
It’s not detecting the presence of M+KB through input conversion devices like adapters or actual mice and keyboards that pretend to be a controller. It’s just recognizing the presence of a mouse and keyboard…
The detection isn’t at all remotely the same as Overwatch, which doesn’t support native M+KB. All M+KB Overwatch players on console are using the adapters.
