Mouse and fps stutter

As the title said im having a mouse stutter around a couple weeks ago, not just mouse stutter fps aswell.

The stuttering happened around a day after i play a casual competitive game, usually stuttering (in my condition) happened because the instability of my ping which fluctuates around the working hour, and i usually play around early morning or late at night, but this stuttering occur even though im having a somewhat stable ping,
so i started to guess its a driver issue, so i install the latest driver from nvdia website, but unfortunately the stutter still happening, which i knew would’ve happened (because i tried installing a new driver a couple months ago but it gives me stutter so i just roll back my driver and it went back to normal)

So i tried rolling back my driver again through Device Manager, but the stutter still happening, at this moment i just gave up and stop trying, but today i tried to clean reinstall my driver using DDU like what technical support thread recommended.

So i tried and the the result is a fairly smooth game but it still have a mouse stutter, so now im half way to fixing it.

Any recommendation is appreciated, im in somewhat indecisive whether to just clean install windows and upgrade my graphics card or not.

P.s: my nvdia control panel, is set to maximum performance, highest monitor refresh rate and Ultra low latency, physx is set on the GPU.

My mouse is AbkoNCore A900

Spec: i7 4790, gtx 1060, 8 gb ram, overwatch is in my Ssd

Have you enabled the high precision mouse option in settings?

Nope, i didn’t know there was this option. Thanks for the reply.

Update, i just reinstall my nvdia driver, but i set it it to advance and check the remove old driver file, but after the reinstall, idk but it feels like the fps went even worse like before…

Have a look a a youtuber called panjno for 2020 nvidia settings

Hey mendowkusai,

It may also be helpful to close all other programs while testing the game. If this persists, let’s get a DxDiag to take a closer look:

  1. Press Windows Key + R.

  2. Type DxDiag and press Enter.

  3. In the DxDiag window, click Save All Information.

4)Name the file “dxdiag” and click Save

  1. Paste the DXdiag into the post, select and highlight everything you just pasted, and hit the “code” button (</>). That’ll make the information much more readable.
It should look like this.

If you have issues pasting here, please use Pastebin and post the link (ex: Pastebin (dot) com/123456).

New update, i was able to slightly fixed this problem,

  1. Updating my driver and enabling remove old file from Advance option when installing the driver
  2. I also enable the high precision mouse option (thanks for the tips Loutish)

Even though the games is fairly playable, my unstable connectivity still affect the gameplay most of the time, when i move my mouse it didn’t stutter as badly as before, and when im falling i can see my player viewmodel moves very smoothly, but still there is Still stuttering when im looking at things around me, for an example if i stand on a really high place and look around it doesn’t look that smooth but still bareable.

it became very Unberable to see a choppy/stuttering door and building around me, its very visible and pretty much ruin my confidence to even play the whole game, because i feel like im almost there to fix this problem.

i will be providing some additional infromation when needed, etc dxdiag, winmtr and others.

Hey mendowkusai,

In this case, I would suggest updating to the latest version of Windows by going directly to the Microsoft website.

New update, some people had also some problem with the new driver, some say they have Texture flickering some say the others. For me, the problem is i can’t really named the problem that i’m having, it just basically feel like the texture around me looks jagged and not smooth at all.

no i dont think updating my windows would gives much different

Mendowkusai,

Your windows is nearly 2 years out of date at this point. Windows includes many frameworks with updates that you will be missing, and also updates many of its core drivers. Until you update that, there’s not much else we can offer you. You can also try rolling back to previous graphics drivers, but I don’t know that it will help for your issue. If you’re still having problems after updating windows, please send a new DXDiag so we can look for new errors.

nevermind, i just had to replace my current mouse to my old mouse (G102),

i just fixed my problem…

Appreciate the follow up mendowkusai. Wouldn’t be the first time I’ve seen this - mice do die over time, but we’re glad you got it fixed.
