Mouse Aim Feels...Off?

Ive been messing around with the settings and I can’t get the feeling of my mouse to feel right. It is different from OW1 and feels so bad.

I’ve messed with the settings people have been saying to change but it still feels off. I hate this because it is really screwing with my ability to aim.

Also, crosshair settings are a mess and don’t even work.

Gg thanks for the rushed launch

i play tracer and d.va which require aim and its not right with these issues

It’s finally starting to get recognition across the playerbase (but Blizz has still not acknowledged there is any issue). Aiming is muddy and sluggish and heavy for some players. It might only be something affecting certain players, as others say aim feels fine to them. But to many hitscan players, aim is really bad in OW2.

Turn off dynamic resolution and keep the render scale to 100%. Feels so much like OW1.

Dynamic resolution will change your resolution on the fly to maintain 60+ FPS.

Changing resolution will throw aim off, as it’s changing how far your game is going on screen, then scaled again to fit correctly.

Say going from 1920x1080 or 2560x1440 where you’re used to it, then the game suddenly changing to 1280x720 or 1680x1050 with no warning. It’s gonna throw you off.

Edit: Go into controls and hit advanced, turn controller aim smoothing to 0. Apparently the game applies both mouse and controller settings.

Use 1600 dpi and use the crosshairs aim thingy

I was saying this during the beta too, but apparently, nothing’s changed. Hit boxes are weird. I was playing Widow the other day and I definitely should’ve landed some shots but they didn’t register (yes my latency was okay). I was warming up in the practice range and I noticed that my bullets were travelling a little bit below my crosshair, I couldn’t notice it during games because it was busy all the time but yeah, maybe that’s why.

Read my post above, after changing those two settings, the aim feels way more like OW1.

I already changed those settings days ago.

Besides other tips like dynamic resolution etc I saw a Reddit post which stated that for some stupid reason the controller aim smoothing (controls > controller > advanced > aim smoothing) still affects your mouse so it should be set to 0% instead of 100%.
I did notice a difference for the better in my game once I did that.

I have not noticed any hit reg issues. My sensitivity definitely changed, I had to adjust it and spend a few days getting used to the new value again. I also did the graphic changes people suggested to be safe. But when I miss it’s clear that I missed.

yeah, on console too. it feels so off and i found precise aiming to be so damn hard. on pc however, im actually having a better time aiming than i usually do playing pc games. i mean look at my fortnite clips and then my OW2 clips and its night and day.

Don’t know about you guys but with the added server placement issues in Australia, it’s making it extra difficult to get used to whatever they’ve changed with aiming.

Even if this current system is working “as intended” it’s near impossible to get used to in Australia because every 2nd match is on a foreign server, increasing your ping by +100 on average and becoming laggy as hell. Thought it was a me problem, checked with a bunch of different Aussie solo queue players in my friends list and they’re all seeing the same thing.

Saw an article about something with aim smoothing.

Maybe check the settings?

I have to shoot into empty space to hit my targets. PSN.

You are not alone in this, i’ve played FPS games for decades now, and while i’ve never been a pro gamer or anything, i do considering myself to be above average. Yet in Overwatch 2, i have seriously issues tracking targets, i’ve tried adjusting my DPI, my sensitivity, but it feels off, like the movement is too heavy or like it there is some delay.

And yes i have no mouse acceleration or anything in windows turned on, and the so-called precision aim is on, no vsync and 144 fps.

It’s like overwatch 2 does not have raw input like most other shooters have.
