i’ve seen alot of smash bros topics like “who’s the most character in lore” meaning not how strong they are in-game or in tier list but story wise how powerful are they. so whos the most powerful overwatch character in lore? in your opinion.

It’s hard to say really. Lore wise we’re not entirely sure what every character is capable of.
Hanzo uses the dragons power, and assuming there wasn’t any limit to him being able to dragonstrike, this would make him incredibly strong.
Reaper is technically immortal because as his body dies it perpetually rebuilds itself.
Doomfist’s punches have the power to level buildings.
Tracer can manipulate time itself
And Mercy can ressurect the dead (I’m counting this as canonical since Genji was on the brink of death when Overwatch found him)

A lot of people default to Reaper, because he is immortal. Even without that, he is probably among the most dangerous regardless. That being said, based solely on shorts, Winston. My homie took out Reaper and Doomfist. Beyond that, Gorillas have a lot of muscle and this one just happens to be the most intelligent in the Overwatch universe. Deadly combination, fam. Before you know it, he is going to build a larger chronal accelerator that enables HIM to travel to the past and stop the Omnic Crisis on his own because those punks will not answer the call.

Either Winston or Reaper.
Though I’m leaning more towards Winston.
Say what you want, but he’s a giant, genetically-altered gorilla. That alone puts him in a tier of his own that not many could deal with.
I mean, he’s one of the smartest characters, if not THE smartest character in the game and he’s also the strongest.
There’s not really much that people can do about that.

I want to say Doomfist as there was 3 characters on him in the animated cinematic and winston technically had to ‘ult’ to beat him.
But I feel like the characters are purposefully designed in a rock paper scissors manner so it’d be a tough one to call.
Personally I’ve always been curious if Orisa even could defeat doomfist canonically.

Reaper is the most powerful. He is a genetically modified super soldier that was also biogenetically altered by moira so that he cannot die. He is far more powerful than anyone.
