Most of these perks are very uninspired

It’s evidently clear that these perks have been hastily put together in an effort to quickly show SOMETHING.

Easy to implement, just some number tweaks here and there, some unused assets we still have laying around.

The most elaborate and meaningful ones seem to be reusing previously existing assets or abilities that have long been removed (Torbjorn’s Lvl 3 turret, Reaper’s healing orbs, Orisa’s shield)

But it’s clear they didn’t know what to do for many of them so they just gave them very basic stuff. By and large, most don’t really alter the way you play the character in any meaningful way. Many are just minor number buffs and trade offs. Cosmetic changes at best.

There’s also a huge imbalance between heroes. Some get tradeoffs while others get straight up buffs.

I wasn’t sold on the idea that heroes could change during the match (part of the appeal of Overwatch to me was that a hero’s kit is always a constant every match, throughtout the entire match) and the perk list I saw did little to change my mind

that’s how the cookie crumbles

cool, don’t play it then

Especially for the least played Heroes. An example of such discrepancies:

  • Ashe can effectively fire infinitely by landing headshots, easy to do against tanks.

  • Symmetra gets an extra Turret! Her Turrets are crappy in an active scenario.

Doesn’t matter what blizz does, there will be people to complain about any aspect of anything.

I just can’t see any philosophy behind these perks. There’s no real structure
It really looks like leftovers from everpromised PvE
It would make so much sense if minor perks always provided you a choice of improving your move (Shift) ability or util (E) ability and major perks would’ve changed the ultimate drastically

You can say an extra turret is nothing. But having extra turret mixed with healing 20 shield when by your tp is gonna make for some crazy fun flanks on enemies. As someone who loves tp turret combos she’s gonna be better.

Considering Stadium seems to be a recycling of unused PvE stuff, I wouldn’t be surprised if this is on the same boat

Y’all keep talking like recycling unused assets is bad.

Torbjorn’s turret being able to go level 3 is actually a case of them not being lazy, I don’t know if you know

Every single Torb skin has had a model for the level 3 turret even though it only ever showed up in the one highlight intro. So even when you think there was no work, it’s work that’s been building up over years.

Really? That’s interesting.

It is not. I’m actually glad to see Lvl 3 turret again.

I don’t have a problem with it in the slightest. However it is a clear indicator that this system, these perks, had very little development time.

It was supposed to be “Groundpreaking ™” yet all we are getting is repackaged table scraps

Current list of perks speaks for itself

You make it sound like the enemy team doesn’t get upgrades too.
In a vacuum, an extra Turret is…amazing? Somehow?
When the enemy gets upgrades that negate the damage one extra, easily destroyed Turret outputs, it’s just pathetic.

But everyone like you says these cope-based statements of “she’ll be better with these paltry changes!” then in 3 weeks you’ll stop playing her entirely for someone more effective.

Because sticking Torb’s turrets to walls and ceilings surely took no time at all to get right

I find it strange that some perks have drawbacks. That should be looked at

Fine I’ll be better with these changes. You won’t. But I will be. It’s also not cope. I’ve been dooming Overwatch since marvel rivals. I assumed this spotlight would have been awful. And I’m pleasantly surprised that it’s actually a W and seems to be a good time.

It’s an April fools patch as the chief mode….not a fan

The logic already exists in the game for Sym’s turrets. Whats your point?

Logic don’t mean squat, the two animate very differently to one another
