Most Heroes are utterly helpless against Hammond

Please for the love of god nerf this stupid ball.

You can’t kill him. All you can do is watch as he rolls away at turbo speed. Even with team focus he’s extremely hard to take down because of how easily he can escape.

His ball form needs to have inertia and take time to build up momentum before it puts him at full rolling speed.

The stupidest decision they made is to put his new shield health over the armor instead of under it. Makes ball almost invincible even when anti’d.

Killed him plenty of times.

He’s not invincible, he’s just annoying. If you can put sustained fire on him he drops quickly enough though.

Sounds like a serious fun killer.

I’d prefer that he just got a durability nerf.

They just went the laziest way possible to buff him. Instead of giving him more room for skill expression or pick potential in his kit, they increased his health, so now he is in the backline indefinitely. If you do not have DPS with enough burst, he never gets sent back to spawn and makes supports want to alt + F9 immediately. It is past the point of annoying.

I really appreciate how Ball is the best tank to contest snipers. I really do. However, if this is the best they can do in buffing him, then I have to say Winston will always be its healthy version.

On blizzard world, we decided to just ignore the Ball. Ana outhealed his damage, and he literally just rolled around doing nothing while we picked off their team as they had no one to carry them through the first gate on defense. It was so funny seeing the roll-y boy just try and do stuff while achieving nothing.

if you cant kill ball then your just utterly bad. ball has so many counters its not even funny. doom, sombra, mei, ana etc.
play ball for once and you see how utterly cancer this game is

I gotta admit… I was playing against a skilled hammond the other night, and swapped to Sombra to counter him.

Despite that fact that I hacked him everytime he swung in to pile drive, he was still running amok and tearing through us.

I’ve no problem with a specialist on a particular hero demonstrating their skill and being rewarded for it… but I always considered Hammond to be one of those heroes that requires a hard counter or two due to his mobility, and if Sombra can no longer hack it (heh), I’m not sure what to do.

ball doesnt need nerfs, people just dont realize that they can ignore him and go after his defenseless backline

Not only that, you forgot that when he actually decides to stop driftin’ and your whole team is at the ready, he pops the totally fun shield that stacks with each enemy present

Yep, basically.

If you see a ball zooming around, just take out his heal support/DPS. Same with Doomfist and to a lesser extent, Winston, since Winston does have the bubble shield.

While they’re leaping around trying to dive your team, you can just murder the support/DPS that is behind them and once they’re down, Hammond/Doomfist/Winston will fold like a wet paper towel.

Ball is mostly an empty threat, dont be pinballs, heal piledrove targets and then he’s useless.
While his dps and support are having to directly fight off a rein/sig/dva/whatever.
As soon as people apply what they know bout fighting an orisa to fighting a ball he’s screwed.
Or sleep him and he’s dead

You see him rollin’ and hatin’?

Good ball players can feel nearly unkillable unless you go zen as support etc.
Sleeping a good WB player very rarely ends up in a kill.

I’ve also thought he gets his “fireball form” a little too fast, ie, he could use a bit more speeding up before he can boop people for dmg.

This is literally how it works. It is, however, very short. I would not be opposed to it taking longer

his skill ceiling is already extremely high

most teams aren’t smart enough to do this

Ball is literally the beefiest tank in the game.

Sombra is a soft counter, Brig is actually the best at shutting down our dive. Soldier also does boatloads of damage due to our large hit box.

We honestly didn’t need buffs either.

yeah I can get a fireball in as little as 2 meters of space. It’s literally a wrist flick to do it.

Mei counters ball, zen counters ball, mei + zen counters ball, just team needs to focus him as well, orisa sigma rodhog can counter ball

These two haven’t been counters to ball since OW1 on Mei and S2 on Sombra. Taking him out of ball for a second does nothing on a hero that gets as many shields as he does. As for Mei freeze was the counter, that’s gone now so he just rolls off without a care in the world with his 1000hp.

Nah, good ball players can be pretty much unkillable. He has very high skill ceiling though - there is a lot of variance among players
