• More chance a hero you play gets something cool.
• More of the player base have something cool to chase every season
• If the 2 mythics are from different roles, ie dps and tank like it is this season, that is 2 roles that have something cool to get rather than it just be a mythic for one role and the other 2 roles just sit twiddling their thumbs until the next season
• Only releasing 1 mythic a season meant unless you played that 1 hero it was kind of meh. Now there is 2x the opportunity a hero you play will get something which is only good
The only people can see any negative in this are the people who think they should be entitled to get everything. For everyone else this just means more chance a hero you play or a hero in your favourite role gets something, so you actually have the ability to earn something you will get value from
Personally I don’t find much value in the ashe or rein skins cus i dont play either hero nor much tank or dps in general. But next season chances are that support will get a mythic weapon so even if its a tanks turn to get the skin, I will still have something to look forward to. So to me more mythics is only a good thing
I think people mainly complain about how you are forced to spend mythic prisms to unlock one of the 2 new mythics, as opposed to it being $4 for completing the battle pass (you get $6 worth of returns).
Maybe if base mythic costs 40 prisms then you have enough prisms from the BP to unlock the base for both ashe skin and rein weapon skin, but if you really only want rein weapon skin then you can spend all 80 prisms on it.
Since I’m actually an adult and have some self control, I can handle the fact that I don’t need every mythic.
Like most people I only play 3-4 heroes so unless its a skin for one of them I can happily save my prisms until its for something I want.
As i said at the bottom of the post, I will happily skip the ashe and rein mythics cus i play neither hero. I will just save my prisms for next season where with 2 mythics a season there is now a higher likelihood there will be something for a hero I play
It’s called being a sensible adult, you should try it some time
The fact you immediately go to assuming im only saying what I typed since I can afford both says to me you think you should be able to earn both.
You shouldnt.
Take some accountability and pick one.
Or neither like me.
Don’t cry cus you can’t get your own way
“Chase every season” is an interesting way to phrase it. I don’t think you can “catch it” every season if you only get 600 coins per season.
No, there are other arguments to this too. For instance, why were heroic weapon skins not marketed as versions that weren’t maxed out with animations/inspects/etc. (aka the lesser version of mythics)? If I had known that the hard-light skin was going to be the bottom of the barrel variant of weapon skins, then I wouldn’t have wasted my coins on it.
Also why are weapon inspects only available on Mythic weapons? Something that was promised for OW2 is now again being pay-walled when no other game in the industry pay-walls weapon inspects.
That or they’re not impulsive… I don’t agree with them, but you don’t need more than two braincells to understand that just because you can buy it doesn’t mean you have to.
??? You get 80 prisms a season, you get enough to chase and eventually earn at least one mythic per season.
What do the coins have anything to do with it lol?
??? They literally never said the weapon skins theyve released had animations and inspects etc
You just bought something without actually knowing what you were buying. You can even test the weapons out in the training range before buying them so you knew exactly what you were getting
Thats fully on you
Weapon inspects arent available on mythic weapons lol? It has a unique emote thats it. You can literally see it in the trailer. Rein spins the hammer in his hand. Thats it.
Weapon inspects havent been added to the game yet for whatever reason. Thats for the devs to answer. We all want them.
But you are just confusing weapon inspects with a unique emote that the weapon has.
It would make no sense to tie weapon inspects to 1 weapon skin since the entire point of an inspect is so you can see your weapon in any skin. Maybe the mythic weapons could have unique inspect animations in the future if inspects are added but the ability to inspect would not be entirely confined to just them because what would be the point of only being able to inspect 1 weapon skin??!!
At FIRST GLANCE, the idea of them adding a mythic weapon was scummy to me, but after a couple days of thought, I actually agree. I actually don’t USE half of the mythic skins that have come out, nor did I use the mythic prisms to purchase mythic mercy, because I will never NOT use winged victory or lifeguard. I NEVER play Ashe OR Reinhardt, SO I will have 2 seasons worth of prisms saved up when season 12 launches and theoretically, a new chance at a skin and/or weapon I care about. Even if it was BOTH, I could afford them without paying for anything more than the battlepass. Only if you suffer from FOMO, or have that “I MUST HAVE EVERYTHING” mentality, I think this kinda works out better. It would take SO LONG for EVERY hero to get a mythic skin, but maybe they will get their chance at a weapon at least?
the fact people are already whining about not being able to have everything is exactly why blizzard gets away with price gouging and lazy content. a LOT of yall would rather die than miss out on a cosmetic for one season.
they’re cosmetics everyone, you don’t need them. and if missing out on one sends you into this much of a fit, then i hate to break it to you, but you are in fact the target audience.
They are cosmetics but it’s also what they are pushing as “content” and it’s also paid “content”
I think if people are expected by Blizzard to spend money on this stuff, then people are also entitled to voice their opinion. I’m sorry you don’t like that.
by all means speak your piece. but if your opinion boils down to ‘i hate that theres 2 mythics because now i can’t have everything’ then you are exactly the sucker blizzard is expecting to cave and start shelling out money.
theres two mythics because they KNOW far too many players see cosmetics as these holy amazing items and at the end of the day, too many of yall are gonna break the bank for a hammer and an ashe skin
nobody asked for it to be free, most of us paid money for it and got all of this cosmetic stuff for free with enough gameplay - now they stole that from us with a fake sequel that added nothing promised and nothing new - aaron kellar and his crew of criminals should be rotting in jail - but sleazy lawyers and a lack of standards in the digital arena allow them to do whatever-the-f they like without consequence.
Great, now we’ve got the “they stole from us in OW1 when they took lootboxes away” crowed again.
“I paid 50 dollars 8 years ago. Everything should still be free.” I hear you saying (with no sarcasm at all)
You ever fix a car you’ve had a couple years? Was that free?
