Could you imagine how the game would be if the devs put the effort they are putting into Moira into heros that actually needed it? Like come on, they are making these changes to make her more “skillful” but imagine if they actually did changes to make characters more balanced. Maybe then the meta wouldnt stay the same for months on end.
Moira is balanced in her current state no matter how much people dislike her, therefore the game is unplayable, I guess.

Ya I dont see how she is this big of a problem requiring multiple experimental cards. Looking at overbuff, not the best resource but the best we have, in gm she is sitting at dead last in pickrate this week and third worst for the month. So giving her nerfs for the sake of skill is pointless and wont bring any changes.
Its funny, they are still showering Moira with gifts, an already super strong healer/hero and letting Lucio still rot in the basement doing 16hp/sec in a 12m circle while splitting teams apart through shield breakuo…because he has sole access to speed boost. Not even the common decency to stop him being the sole support in game unable to heal while hacked.
Giving her the power of his ult on an 8 second cooldown is only slightly less stupid than it was on 6 second.
her pickrates are crazy high in bronze, silver, gold. I can see why they’re making her more skillful lmao
They are high but she is only the highest in bronze and silver, past that Ana is top dog all the way to gm, and even then Moira barely beats her in silver. Should they be making changes to make Ana more skillful.
Regardless of the current experimental changes I think making Moira more skilful would make her more fun to play in the long run. The same with Brig. She’d be better re-worked into a healing tank similar to what they have in Paladins. If Mei can be a DPS, Brig can definitely be a tank.
With skill should come greater reward and with reward enjoyment. I don’t think it is in the interests of the game to have heroes that thrive in lower ranks but get shut down above plat. It unbalances everything.
I haven’t played the current Moira but with the team fade & turning the damage orb into a skill shot, she is moving in the right direction.
Maybe but the nerfs she is receiving on top of these changes are just whats taking it in the wrong direction to me.
Should she receive nerfs to go along with changes to abilities? Maybe, but it needs to be tested first. I know they have tested the fade changes a bit however removing the cleanse, increasing the cooldown, and removing the ability to escape grav is a bit much for the utility it provides. Same with the orb changes where it seems to have more drawbacks than actual benefits to using it. Or the reduced hitbox on her grasp without changing the amount of healing she gets back or any changes to ult charge.
The nerfs she getting just seem way to harsh.

Judging by the piece of text in the beginning of the experimental patch notes, there’s a purpose in this experiment beyond testing out the Moira changes: The devs are using it as a window for us to peek at their iterative process of changing a hero. That would indicate that these changes aren’t likely to come to the live game as is, and that equal effort is really being put into other heroes too.
I’d love to see something similar for other heroes (say, a few versions of how the 1-3-2 experiment’s Hog group heal could be implemented in the regular game), but a more important thing is that we’re getting a kind of “behind-the-scenes” peek here - something that not that many large companies provide, especially in their actual product.
The Moira updates feel like some kid playing around in Gary’s Mod. I don’t think they’ve given thought about actual usefulness or playstyles and just went with “let’s do something weird”. The changes to damage orb basically neuters her “equal/opposite” theming.
Did you even try the experimental before coming here to talk s…t? The way experimental is right is a huge nerf to moira… Not making it more skillful, its a nerf! I played for 2 hours and landed maybe 3 damage orbs on other team, let along them sharing the damage. And that fade giving immunity thing… What a joke!! what’s it good for? 1 sec immunity to someone that overextended or someone that is gonna die, you fade in and give immunity, congratulations you are now gonna die with them because you are out of position.
